It's acceptable to kill in defence of yourself or another person. That's about it imo. In "theory" I could accept the death penalty as a way of protecting society but in practice a lot of innocent people seem to get executed in the states so life in prison works better.

If someone hurt my family I'd probably want them dead but I also don't think it would be right of me to act on it.

Does it, though?

Suicide rates in American prisons are higher than they have ever been, and the suggestion is that a lot of the people dying are actually innocent people who were wrongly convicted and cannot cope with prison life.

slight twist to the above conversation...

lets say you had the opportunity to kill someone and suffer no consequence for doing it..

no punishment.. no retribution.. no legal ramifications.. nothing at all..

you are just provided the opportunity to kill someone..

could / would you do it?

Would depend on whether I got to chose who it was.

If someone told me I had to kill a random with no ramifications I couldn't do it.

But if I could put Nicky Minaj, Justin Bieber, One Direction, Iggy Azalea (plus plenty I can't think of right now) on a pilotless plane and shoot it down with a missile I would have no problem with it.

Would depend on the person and the method. Don't hate anyone enough I know though.

Certain political figures would feel the sting of my ire.

And by sting, I mean explosive tipped bullet to the back of the head.

If I was told I could kill someone with no ramifications whatsoever, the first person I see wearing a Bulldogs jersey is gonna cop it.

Would you travel to Africa during the current Ebola outbreak?

If so, would you travel to an infected country? Bearing in mind that the USA is technically an infected country.

I would travel to Africa. But not an infected country. And I do not count the US as an infected country....there are more instances of the bubonic plague in the US than there are Ebola.

I understand the transmission methods. I also understand the fatality rate. And this is a particularly weak strain of Ebola

I would love to visit Africa, but it's not at the top of the list at the moment. I am more concerned by the ongoing political and social conflicts in that continent than I am of Ebola.

I've got friends traveling and living with in infected countries. If the desire was there to visit Liberia or Mali, I'd go regardless.
