I'm of a similar belief, Drew, and I appreciate your story and knowing it's not just me.
I sometimes think back nostalgically and wish I'd spent longer in Korea, but I left at the right time for me. I moved to Australia with a girl who would, thus far, prove to have been the most significant woman I've had in my life. I left the country 'on a high' and while I sometimes wish I'd maintained that high a while longer, I know it could never have lasted.
I tried to go back and re-create that after a break-up, and while I still loved Korea, it didn't feel right being back there. I lasted about two and a half months before I left.
I'm at a similar point in my time here. I'm well known and well liked, I'm dating, and I'm enjoying life. But short of finding the girl of my dreams and being deliriously happy, things can't really improve any more for me here.
At best, they stay the same. At worst, they go downhill and tarnish my memory of my last six months here.
It's time for a new adventure.
