Do you have an oven with a grill option? That was how I toasted up until about 13, whenever we moved to current house, because we never had a toaster and just used that instead

I have an oven, but once you've had perfectly toasted toast with the cooking even on both sides, having one side hard and cold and one side warm and soft just doesn't cut it.
