All this talk just makes me want to go and watch the Chicken f**ker episode of South Park.

sure you can try

Can't remember who said it but you can always tell a country by how it treats it's animals.

Take the middle east where dogs are considered vermon and goats are often use for shagging (my brother has witnessed this through the night vision on a predator drone during his tour there and then got to see the two pieces of shit get literally cut in half by the rarther large calibre shells they spray). Also a friend that had two stripes on his sleeve before he went over there and came back with only one as one of the filthy, lazy turds they were trying to train and help on patrols booted the bomb sniffing canine they had with them in the face that required surgery just because it got to close to them (like you might to do a rat if it crawled in your direction). My friend had seen this piece of shit do it other stray dogs walking around the campus and decided to remove what few teeth he had left with the butt of his rifle.

Any nation that an alarming amount of the population consider shagging and injuring animals just for the fun of it as acceptable will also be the nations that are in some asshole of the world that has been torn and blown to bits and are more interested in shooting people then feeding their families

I'm pretty sure the quote is "how it treats its poor", but I see your point.

I think a country should probably get how it treats its people right before it starts worrying about dogs and sheep.

Well they do say a lot of serial killers start their careers off as youngin's by torturing animals.

I'd say both issues stem from the same flaw; a lack of empathy and all that jazz.

if they cant treat simple creatures right then what hope do they have of treating humans right?

Like getting your kid a pet, you get them a plant first and see if they can keep that alive before going to the next level up.

I got to that point about halfway through season one when it became clear that Kevin Bacon > everything they could throw at him and started making the villain lose his cool every episode.

only seen season 1, got a bit tired of bacon running into potentially incredibly dangerous situations without any help at all or just one other person who would then end up making things worse and no one bothering to turn any lights on.

haha yeah it was probably around that point for me too, I just wanted to finish off the first season at least + I wasn't working then and had time to kill.

I'll raise a point of debate. Do Universities/colleges to put much emphasis on textbook learning and is the learning somewhat irrelevant once in the rule world?

This touches base on the whole "Universities are a money system. Experience over knowledge debate etc.

I would go so far as to say a lot of education these days is too scholarly in its approach. I say this having done an almost entirely scholarly degree (theatre with a minor in communication and English) and having enjoyed it.

That said, there has always been the option of going to a technical college if you want to pursue more practical skills. So you get what you pay for (and you pay a lot for it) if you go to a university and pursue this scholarly approach to education.

uni + work fits hand in hand.

i have learned more doing my post grad work, because i have been able to apply context to the theory..

and i have seen myself blossom as a worker and my pay grow by nearly 50% since starting my degree..

i feel i've learned more in those few years through combining work and study than i did in my undergrad + early career combined.
