Who do you guys like that are constantly ignored by the mainstream as they continue to keep hip hop real? Here are my favs:

Immortal Technique
Mos Def/Talib Kweli (altho are going pop as we speak)
Royce Da 5'9"
Jedi Mind Tricks
Demigodz
Pharoahe Monch (going mainstream - signed to Shady Records)
KRS One
Scram Jones
Executioners
Beatnuts

who do u guys like?

Usually yes. They tend to stop what they are good at doing, and follow what is in fashion. They only get signed to majore labels if a producer can sell their music to those who follw popular music. Thus u get guys like Eminem who used to be good, making WACK tracks because thats what sells. The fashion nowadays is: CRUNK/CLUB eg. Lil Jon, Neptunes etc.

Guys that are good in the mainstream: Redman, Wutang Clan, Nas, Canibus there are a few there. 1.

BeautifulS truggle and Quality are awesome albums by Talib. I dont consider him to be moving in the pop drection though MM. I think even if his music becomes more 'popular' as such, he will stay true to his current style.

Pep, I think you'd like Talib Kweli and maybe Royce Da 5'9, other than that, I doubt you'd be into much of it.

Gang Starr are my fave, although going my your mainstream list they'd have to be listed as mainstream also. I guess it depends on your definition.

I quite like Nas in moderation, but the problem with his albums is that all his songs seem to flow into one. There's none that really stand out and say to me 'Look at me, I'm a reason to constantly listen to this album.' The same can probably be said about my KRS One album.

I like individual songs from Mos Def, Ras Kass, Chino XL and a few others; but haven't really heard enough to rate them properly.

KRS-One is a god of hip-hop, and Mos Def and Talib are high priests. I'm also a big fan of The Beatnuts Psycho and JuJu, although I find them even better beatmakers than they are mc's. I don't know much about the Demi-godz, but I do like the name.

YOU ARE A CHAMPION

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE ARTISTS ARE AMAZING

immortal techinique has a new album droppingm, first single is good

talib is almost mainstrem, his last album was amazing, and the kanye beats on it were some of his best ever (lonely people was arguable his best)

mos def- new album is out and its hot

Royce- royce is a bit of a nas of the music industry, known for his differnt beats, but his latest mixtape was pure fire, especially track 8

Jedi mind tricks- new album is awesome, and the meldrick remix of the first track was on my last cd. Style is very alike to DMX

KRS ONE- knowledge reigns supreme over nearly everyone- still spitting is one of my favourite songs from the new album and its amazing. KRS went down after he said those things about 911 :?

BEATNUTS- my all time FAVOURITE rap group. The best beat makers until kanye showed up. the new album is AMAZING- well worth a buy/download. I cant wait till i can get it in australia. One of the originators of latino rap along with big pun. These cats were mainstrem back in 1997, but went well underground after that. Theier latest album is full of club bangers and itll surely lift thier profile in the mainstream

anyways- top post ;-)

UNDERGROUND FOREVER!

This sentence needs punctuation. I have some suggestions.

Then I shall tell everyone: "I hate hip-hop which isnt unusual".
Then, I shall tell everyone I hate: "hip-hop" - which isn't unusual.
