I love the subject matter. Choosing a career path you'll be on for 30+ years when you're not even 21 is the confronting part for me.

I'm 24 trust me you have so long to make up your mind. Do what you love. Identify a career path that you can sees yourself in and loving every moment of it. You spend 2/3 of most days of your life working. Take your time making up your mind about what you want. Find a job that doesn't feel like work IMO.

What I used to do was rename an image (preferably one with irony) to .doc and rename it MyAssignment. When they opened it it would appear corrupt. Free 2-3 days!

one of the first lectures i ever had the lecturer told us that in his 20 odd years of teaching he only knew one guy that would hang around until 5pm on friday and empty the assignment box and he isn't at this uni. So basically if its due by 5pm friday you actually have until monday morning

At Newcastle Uni, if you submitted assignments in via the drop-box you had to get them time-stamped. You could just print out a blank cover sheet and get it time-stamped for an extra day minimum. Obviously it would depend on how quick they sent out the assignments to the markers from the collection box but I'm pretty sure if they were even somewhat competent they'd notice assignments were being handed in later than the time-stamp indicated.

Assignment box?

Old skool...

These days we have to upload it on the uni web site and, if an internal student, hand deliver it to a desk where it is stamped and recorded as submitted and you get a receipt emailed to you with the exact time, down to the second, noted as proof of when you submitted it.

Worth noting I was talking about from a Maths point of view where rarely if ever we even did the assignment box. Usually it was just straight to the lecturer.

We still have ye olde assignment box, though yeah it's meant to be uploaded to the plagiarism gods as well. Allegedly the box is emptied at 4pm sharp, I think that might be a stretch.

Whenever I submit an assignment I get a feeling of high anxiety that I should still be working on it that sticks around for a day or two afterwards. Drives me insane.

You and me both, although I've managed three 100% assignments already this semester. :D
