Massive bump. I'm starting university this year and I don't really have much of an idea yet. How does this timetable look?

Monday - Nothing
Tuesday - 10-12 (lecture), 1-3 (lecture), 3-5 (computer lab), 5-6 (tutorial)
Wednesday - Nothing
Thursday - 10-11 (workshop), 11-12 (computer lab), 1-3 (lecture), 3-5 (lecture)
Friday - 2-4 (workshop)
Saturday/Sunday - Nothing

Also, what is the difference between a workshop and a tutorial?

1pm until 6pm straight sounds like being pounded from behind. Otherwise that looks pretty good.

Workshops. what are you studying? I think generally they're basically a tutorial, but the leader steps you through it (e.g. if it's learning a computer program) rather than tutorials, which you generally prepare in advance for.

Id try and spread one thing on Tue + Thu to Fri if you can, otherwise you will burn out by the end of semester. If ever you need one class on its own, try and make it a lecture. That shit isn't compulsory!

I would've done that if I could. Absolutely nothing else is offered on the Friday and the workshop is only offered on the Friday. Apparently more timeslots are going to open up though.

Looks bloody good mate, as a university dropout, I can assure you that the less days you spend at uni, the better.

Which uni you going to?

The Friday workshop is the only bummer, but if the time slot is the only one available then you have to suck it up.

I used to do two full days and have the rest off, so I disagree with the burn out claim. I'd do 10 - 6 (usually an hour break) then 9 - 9 (with a lunch and dinner break )on a Tuesday / Weds for my Bus - Comm degree and angled for that every year. Its a long slog, but 9 - 9 with mates in class is fun as it becomes like a session. I'd often walk out with a couple of mates at 5ish, come back at 7ish and the lecturers always knew it was us who weren't present. We'd play pool usually.

I went back yesterday. Damn US college and their Mid-January starts.

On the bright side. Only have classes three days a week.

6-9pm will probably be a few of my classes again, kind of lame.

I dominated last session. Three D's and an HD. Would like to maintain my distinction average this year.

In the case of my degree, workshops and tutes you turn up to. Smaller classes and you actually get a chance to ask questions and get feedback.

Lectures you blow off. Most university use a form of lecture capture now.

Also I'd go to the first lecture, then check my email and ask mature aged students (only ones that went to lecture by week 5) when the lecturer would hold a revision for the mid or final exam.

If I don't stay in China or head elsewhere, I'll be going back to Uni starting early 2016 most likely.
