There was a familiar face around Parra Stadium during the final weeks of the season.
Former Eels favourite PJ Marsh - - who recently signed a new deal with Parramatta after three years with the New Zealand Warriors - is already back home and training with the club.
Marsh played 34 games for the Eels in 2000-01 and was part of the side that went down to Newcastle in the 2001 Grand Final.
"It's great to be back and I can't wait for next year to come around," said Marsh, who hasn't played since suffering a serious neck injury in round 14, 2003, ironically at Parramatta Stadium.
"I've had two operations but it's finally come good and I should be back well in time for the trials early next year. I had some good times with the Warriors but feel very much at home back here with the Eels."
Marsh had another reason to return home early - his wife hails from Parramatta and is pregnant with the couple's first child.
"Kelly wanted to come back near her family so it's worked out well for both of us both on and off the field," Marsh says.
