Well Utah is taking their ball and starting their own competition.

Short sighted, childish and now we see League take 2 steps back.

I would say, if I was betting Sacramento- dead Pelicans and EPA join with Utah.

Word is Sacramento and DP have been a pain behind the scenes and right hand man for DP has been super critical of the pcrl on his Facebook page. If those two go EPA will follow.

A split is disappointing, but not surprising. Utah were never going to just accept the USARL decision and the name calling from both sides has definitely aggravated the situation.

Hopefully when tensions die down there can be a bit of olive branch extending so it's not a complete fracture. If I was the USARL I'd let the URLA run RL in Utah (and they can throw in a few surrounding states as well if they want), recognise them as an affiliate and leave them to grow, but don't include them in any national activities.

The relationship would allow the URLA to still get insurance & grow their junior program, whilst the USARL can still count these clubs & numbers in their IRL/ERL membership, but it would be a very limited relationship.

Over time, if the URLA don't implode, they'll come back into the fold as new people will join who don't care for the battles of the past, they just want their team to have the opportunity to participate in something that the full member leagues can (ie. Voting rights or national premiership or having their players play for the Hawks)

In other USA news:

Tampa Mayhem are the inaugural USA Women's National Champions after they defeated the East Palo Alto Razorbacks 76 - 20 in Palo Alto, California over the weekend.

In Sacramento, the Northern California (NORCAL) All Stars took on the Fiji USA side. Fiji USA defeated NORCAL 78 - 24. The NORCAL Select XIII are scheduled to host SOCAL Select XIII next weekend, hopefully that match is still taking place.

Meanwhile on the East Coast, the RLU All Stars are scheduled to play USARL South on September 14 in Jacksonville.

Hi Guys,

Keith here, from Everything Rugby League - The Podcast. We've recently ramped up our international RL podcasts. Below is an episode with former USARL Treasurer (and Sydney Roosters/ Parramatta Eels CEO) Burnie Gurr. The questions around why he left the USARL are towards the end of the podcast but thought this group might be interested.

Thanks for posting, good listen, Gurr always speaks common sense, should be in admin somewhere.

I couldn't find the part where Gurr talks about leaving USARL ?

Time to get back into what's been happening in the US:

Recent:
Bandidos host Coogee-Randwick Wombats

South Sydney JRL side, the Coogee-Randwick Wombats visited the LA Bandidos to play an end-of-season tour match in LA. Wombats won the match 58 - 24.

Americas Women’s Championship
Canada has won the America's Women's Championship after defeating the USA Hawks in the tournament final.

Results:
Qualifier: USA Hawks 44 - 0 Jamaica
Final: Canada Ravens 40 - 8 USA Hawks

Other Games:
Canada Ravens 80 - 0 USA Pioneers
Jamaica 48 - 12 USA Pioneers

Hawaii Nines
The inaugural Women's Hawaii Nines took place in October featuring the New York State Queens, Roots Rugby, the LA Mongrel & an Combined Team. I believe Roots Rugby won the tournament.

Coming Up:
USA Tour of South Africa

The USA Hawks will tour South Africa for the first time this week, taking part in a two test series starting this Wednesday, December 4. Both Tests will be played in Pretoria.

The USA squad unfortunately contains no one from the western side from the country, with Sean Rutgerson continuing to favour the South-East / Florida competition.

Anson Jiang, Peter Lupton (Boston 13s) Tevita Bryce, Kyle Granby, Derek Lipscomb, Dom Sofe, Anthony Russo (Brooklyn Kings) Ryan Burroughs, Max Dacey, Ethan Ferrick, Daniel Vidot (DC Cavalry) Ryan Bannerot, Mason McCrory, David Washington (Jacksonville Axemen) Ulice Gillard, Wes Piggins, Andre Williams (Southwest Florida Copperheads) Joe Eichner, Gunnar Johnson (Tampa Mayhem)

Vegas Nines:
Vegas Nines will take place once again, and we're already getting some of the announcements around which clubs will be there come March.

Confirmed Teams:
South-West Florida Copperheads (Men's)
Atlanta Rhinos (Men's)
Los Angles Mongrel (Men's & Women's)
Los Angles Roosters (Men's & Women's)
Santa Rosa Dead Pelicans (Men's & Women's)
Riverton Seagulls (Men's)
Sacramento Immortals (Men's)
San Diego Barracudas (Men's & Women's)

In addition to the confirmed, Rugby League United is looking to enter a combined squad, Roots Rugby is expected to also take part. Utah sides are a bit of an unknown, Riverton joining is encouraging and Timp Panthers are indicating they will take part in recent posts.

Utah Junior League
The Utah Winter Nines will be back at Zion Bank Stadium. Phoenix, Panthers, Pitbulls & Rabbitahs are all confirmed and a new Junior side, KauToa has been announced. KauToa will represent Ogden, Bonneville, Roy, Clearfield, Syracluse, Northridge and Layton, in the far north of Salt Lake City.

Usarl and south africa have really dropped the ball on streaming for game two, just communication. Usarl posted all day today, 12/6, the roster for round 2 and every post says Link coming or Link update posted soon. It took till after 8pm for me to tweet at them telling them it would be great to post the link NOW since most people will be going to bed soon or planning for the next day and since kick off is set for 6am west coast time. Time is a ticking. They tweeted back that they haven't been given an update yet and just assume it's the same link as last time

Like come on guys, that's a pretty basic thing that should of been figured out right away. Instead it took me to ask at 8 pm the night before for someone to just ASSUME it's the same link????
