Some of those scores are worrying. Looks like kick off, score, conversion, repeat. This can happen but for new clubs it can suggest they needed another season to get ready to compete.
Yeah, looks a bit like the stretched the player depth a bit too far in order to get a couple of extra teams.

But doesn’t explain Boston. They have been around for years as 13s before the rebrand.

The sheer distance between some of these sides wouldn't be helping either, especially for some sides which were already on the weaker side.

San Diego to Palo Alto is over 700kms, LA to Sacramento is over 600km, Boston to Washington DC is over 700km and even Atlanta to Jacksonville is over 550km. It's a big commitment for a player to sacrifice an entire weekend to just play a single game, so I can understand why some of these teams are forced to travel with the bare minimum number of players.

Throw in the fact some clubs are simply run better, have a really good solid cohort of players and/or been around for longer periods of time (ie. Jacksonville, DC, Sacramento) doesn't help.

Ideal scenario is that over time the leagues become even more localised and slowly start to get to the point where divisions can even be rolled out. What the PCRL was trying to do with the LA Jackrabbits was promising, it's a shame they weren't able to get off the ground.

Makes sense except for the home team that lost by 112. New comps suffer from these issues. I ran a statewide comp in Tassie for a couple of years. Ultra challenging.

LA Mongrel? They were playing away. All the home teams are the ones on the right for these graphics by the USARL.

Taken from Wikipedia: In any context where a game score or the pair of teams meeting in a game are mentioned, the team mentioned first (left or top) is the home team, except in the United States, Canada, and Japan, where home teams are mentioned second.

Ok some big news for the US over the past week.

Rugby League in Vegas grows
Definitely the biggest news is the announcement that the RL in Vegas event has grown from 2 games to 4 in 2025 with a Women's Test & Super League game added to the two NRL fixtures.

Vegas Nines returns
Expressions of interest have opened for the 2025 Vegas 9s. Event will once again feature an open age Men's, Women's & under 18s Boys & Girls competitions.

Currently the competition is limited to teams from North America

Vegas Combine
Expressions of interest have opened for the Vegas Combine. At this stage it will again be limited to 25 female & 25 male players.

Grid Camps & All22 Scouting have been engaged to help find players for the Combine. Both groups are heavily involved in NFL, College Football, CFL, UFL, IFA, ELF & GFL, so if nothing else have a network of athletes to promote to.

Bernie Gurr steps down from USARL board
Unfortunate news that the former CEO of the Roosters & Eels has stepped down, citing family reasons.

Youth Hawks land in Serbia
USA's first ever junior national team faces Scotland this Sunday in the 2024 European U19s Championship.

Winner from the match will face either England or France in the Semi Final, whilst runners up will face the runners up from Serbia v Ukraine.

Hawaii Women's Nines
They have started officially confirming the teams for the inaugural Women's 9s in October, with LA Mongrel & Roots Rugby confirmed.

Ontario Ospreys, Easy Palo Alto Razorbacks & Santa Rosa Dead Pelicans all indicated interest before, however we should find out soon if they are locked in.

Sacramento v Willamette Valley Haybalers event cancelled
The planned training & exhibition event in Oregon was cancelled last minute. Not sure what happened, but assume it was on Sacramento's end based upon the messages from Oregon Rugby League.

Hopefully this doesn't deter the group from pushing ahead.

Puerto Rico Rugby League is back online
New organising committee has been formed to take the league forward, including complete rebrand.

That's a huge blow with Gurr standing down after only a couple of months.

USA could have used his huge amount of knowledge as former CEO of Eels, Roosters and director of finance for the Fifa 94 world cup held in the USA.

Scotland defeated USA 32 - 10 in Monday's European U19s clash. An impressive result considering the player base has only really played 9s up until now.

Results that I could find in the domestic season:

RLU:
Delaware Black Foxes 60 - 4 Boston Bears
Brooklyn Kings defeated DC Cavalry

Florida:
South West Florida Copperheads 38 - 4 Tampa Mayhem

Utah:
Provo Broncos 62 - 16 Herriman Roosters

Pacific Coast:
Sacramento Immortals 28 - 40 Santa Rosa Dead Pelicans
LA Bandidos defeated San Diego Barracudas

Women's:
Jacksonville Axewomen 40 - 12 NY State Queens
