But when you use the marketeer's language, it stifles your ability to think. The plain old words for it used to be "buggery" and "sodomy". Maybe using those words will help you think more clearly about it.

As for your astonishment that I say it is pathological behavior, I can't think of any way in which it is not.

Anal sex has been around as long as man has walked this Earth.
Roman centurions had their young boys to "enjoy" after battle and I'm sure the www wasn't around back then.
It is not a modern phenomenon driven by porn sites or people reading to kids at schools. The doubling of the rate as you state could simply come from the fact that more statistics are now kept, the population has grown, gay men have come out of the closet so to speak.
Plenty of other "animals species" which is technically what we are indulge in anal sex so do they have "mental illness" as well?
Where do you place oral sex on the list of good or bad things in life or are you a missionary position man?
Whilst you may choose to not indulge in something that others decide is ok for them doesn't mean to say that it is instantly an illness.
