You mean Hollywood Harrigan did.

An elbow to the face by an attacker nor a defender has ever been within the rules. You are an idiot, so is Harrigan.

Seems like an appropriate time to bring this up again.

Last night's howler is right up there with the very worst calls. How the video ref awarded that try I'll never know. It was clear that Uate had knocked it forward into Boyd, NSW should never have been awarded that try.

Not sure if serious..

Harrigan told a media conference in Sydney that Blues hooker Robbie Farah had played at the ball with his foot when Inglis lost possession.
He said the ball's contact with Inglis' forearm was a rebound and didn't constitute a knock-on.
"Greg Ingis had possession of the ball and was trying to ground the ball," Harrigan told nrl.com.
"Robbie Farah, in desperation to prevent the try, changed his running gate and threw his leg out.
"In doing so, he dislodged the ball, so therefore it is deemed that he played at the ball. The ball is still live.
"It does rebound off Greg Inglis’s forearm after it was dislodged, but he did not play at it, it was a rebound and then he grounded the ball.
"For these reasons, I agree with the decision to award a try."

Sack Harrigan now!!!

Astonishing that this man is in charge of our game.

Many people were turned off league after last night's decision, and if this f**kwit is left in charge for much longer we'll see more follow.

Rugby league is the only sport in the world where common sense does not apply in its officiating. Every other sport that I follow or have watched makes use of common sense. They also have a far higher percentage of correct calls and the wrong ones are labelled as that... wrong.

WTF is a rebound??? I've never heard that before, is that the new term for a knock on. Unless he's saying Inglis was charging down Farah's kick:roll:. The guy is and always has been a joke.

And if the incident happened on a non-scoring play it would have been a knock-on without a micro second slow down to see if Farah's twitch reactions were "deliberate" or not.

VR should have to watch all decisions at full speed again after he has seen the superslow replay to ensure he still thinks it is a try.

Slow that decision down enough and it seems right, play it at normal speed and it is a blatant "loose carry"

I watch more sport than anyone I know.

I watch NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, EPL, La Liga, ESL, Super 15, AFL and all forms of cricket.

I cannot think of a single one of them that has this sort of problem with officiating, and the worst part is besides AFL ours is undoubtedly the easiest sport to referee out of the lot of them.

It is an embarrassment how bad our refs are, and listening to Harrigan explain away one of the most clear cut incorrect decision of all time with mindless drivel just confirms that our refs are actually being COACHED to be this way.

Harrigan must be removed from the game.

1st post here.

What about someone who is inadvertently hit by a kick and it goes forward? Surely they aren't "playing at the ball".

Has a dangerous precedent been set? Where the hell does a video ref draw the line now between a knock-on and not?

The video ref should only be allowed to make decisions based on fact not on the intent of a player.

If there is doubt regarding whether a ball is played at or not then it should be refs call

What about when the marker slaps at the hand and ball of the dummy half?? Is that now not a knock on??

If thats the ruling, the Knights will be in good shape as Bedsy and Hilder tend to be targets for this sort of thing.

Let's not forget that this is the same Bill Harrigan who saw no problem with a NSW double knock-on back in the 2000 series which lead directly to a try...

The same Bill Harrigan who awarded a try to I believe Billy Slater after he "kicked" a ball out of his own hands with his thigh in the 2005 series.

The same bill Harrigan who ruled that Brett Hodgson didn't play at the ball in 2006 when trying to catch a bomb, it belting him in the chest and going forward, then someone diving on it and scoring.

The same Bill Harrigan who ruled that Jarrod Hayne was out in 2009.

The same bill Harrigan who ruled that Justin Hodges DIDN'T knock on in the 2006 grand final, which would have seen the storm score a try under the sticks and take the lead.

The same bill Harrigan who completely made up a rule in penalising balmain for running into an offside canberra defender in 89.

The same bill Harrigan who ruled that Gasnier planted the ball cleanly against Manly in 2010.

The same bill Harrigan who ruled that Soward stripped the ball from Anasta with his knee in 2010.

The same bill Harrigan who ruled that Dean Young didn't knock the ball straight into Mitch Aubusson before regathering and scoring in 2010

I could keep going and going but I think the point is already made. The bloke is a f**king disgrace and needs to be removed from the game
