Compared to a consistent f**king finals football contender… the aim of this football side should be to play finals football and win a premiership.

over the course of an entire season this arsey type of football will not do that.

there were plenty of positives that’s for sure… the fact they hung in the fight when we all know previous sides could have fallen apart when things went against them.

but you have to admit the lack of structure and effective kicking game was concerning.
Of course that's the aim of every f**king team. Doesn't mean it's gonna happen this year. Think any sane person knows after losing SJ, AFB and Tohu, this may not be the year we win the premiership.

What it is though, is the chance to do a stocktake of what we have and whether what we do have in house will be enough. With that means there will be teething problems and just because you can't see the structure after round 2, doesn't mean they arent working towards it and need to bring someone new in. It's rd 2.

After all of Tevaga’s talk, not sure if I saw him run the ball at all
According to the nrl stat sheet he ran it once, for 6 metres. Missed 6 tackles too.

I know all his chat was in good fun, but looks like it was ultimately just a distraction for him. Not his finest effort.

It's round 2. Which was a vast improvement over round 1. 25 rounds to go. Plenty still left to improve on, but also plenty of positive signs. The fact we put 36 points on a team in the process is a happy bonus.

In 2023, we didn't look particularly cohesive on attack until something like round 10/11. But we won games on the back of our defense. If we can follow a similar pattern this year we'll go all right.
