I'm taking that back. Miss and they defend a seven-tackle set, just when they want it the least.
Yeah I’m fine with that. It’s good game management when you’re well ahead and not giving the opposition a sniff is your primary goal. 34-4 is better than 35-10.

lots of fans cried about Websters team selections last year and it has continued into this year.

Last year we finished fourth.

This year we are in fifth at time of posting and just thrashed an humiliated one of our bogey sides despite them starting dominantly and us missing five starting players.

I dunno what else Webster needs to do to impress the fans of this club.

Right now our for and against is the best in the NRL.

Our territorial dominance is number one in the NRL.

Our defence is in the top four.

So yeah I dunno why anyone would not be humbled and just going with Webster ball and accepting if we lose it is not because a random fan had a better idea about this team than the genius that is Webster.
I for one trust the process!

There are always things to improve on.

Our attack inside the 20m was average, didn't earn a repeat set and went side to side at times. Should have been at around 24 points first half and line break tries made it look better.

Defense on right was off at times.

But yes more positives than negatives.
4 points only.
SJ kicking game remains consistent.
Egan at dummy half threading and had support players with him.

Manly will be a test next week.

I’d like to think those were both a result of team changes- they improved through the game so hopefully that’ll continue.

They certainly will though Manly grow an extra leg at Brookie, not sure how well they travel yet.

Lussick in a lot of trouble. Got sent off.

Possibly broke Illias leg.
Watched a replay, didn't seem Steve Price bad, didn't dive at legs, seemed to be more running through.
We lost a second guy to bin at same time, yet nothing for Souths running in as 3rd and 4th man in
Video here.

Honestly if we lose Freddie for a few weeks it’s not a big deal for the first grade side as long as Egan stays fit.
But I don’t see it being a long suspension anyway. He’ll cup something due to duty of care but it was clearly a charge down gone wrong not playing at the legs.

I know the game is very careful about kickers these days but I genuinely struggle to understand what he did wrong there or what rule he broke. Ilias tries to kick the ball with a defender 5cm from him, the defender touches him….seems like physics?

I think it will come down to a duty of care argument- Lussick put himself in a position where there was potential to cause injury and it occurred. But it shouldn’t be a long a suspension even if that argument sticks. It clearly wasn’t a deliberate targeting of the legs.

Yes. good +/- in games like this can be very helpful at the end of the year when people are fighting for their playoff position. I was definitely riding the D not to let in a try in that last 60 seconds.

I saw a Souths fan going postal about Lussick's involvement and was suspecting it to be a really terrible act of thuggery. It was basically just unfortunate and incidental

tbh I posted this in a state of near comatose intoxication and don't really believe it, but it's also not as crazy of a post as I was expecting

It was arguably reckless.
I think it was probably the tier down from reckless, whatever that is. He failed in his duty of care for 'looking after the kicker' - not that you need to provide him with slippers and a gown, but making contact with the leg shouldn't happen.

However, I'd expect he might get a week or so, anything else would be crazy

Yep, that's where I'm at, although I wouldn't blow up if they landed at reckless.
