WA BEARS

I thought no one played RL in ns anymore and they all became swans fans? Isn’t it more likely NS would just be out competing with the other 9 clubs to sign the best 16-18 year olds from across Sydney? adding a pseudo 10th club to the Sydney pool doesn’t seem very smart?
It's hard to keep up with their fanciful excuses about the Swans' rise, Bears' demise and anything else to do with the diminution of the NSWRL clubs. Thankfully I don't have to see their shit as I've got them all on ignore. 😂

If the Bears were brought back then that would add to the list of NRL teams that share a mascot with an NFL team.

Brisbane Broncos : Denver Broncos
Canberra Raiders : Los Vegas Raiders
Gold Coast Titans : Tennessee Titans
Manly Sea Eagles : Philadelphia Eagles
North Queensland Cowboys : Dallas Cowboys
Penrith Panthers : Carolina Panthers
Redcliffe Dolphins : Miami Dolphins

Our game needs money and V'landys has reckons there's riches in America.

Why not get V'landys to reach out to the NFL and owners of NFL clubs who share MASCOTS with ours about investing in our teams?

The amount of money needed to run an NRL club is peanuts compared to the NFL. If it allows both codes to cross-promote their products to a larger audience then everyone wins. Ideally we would look at shortening our season so it finishes before the NFL begins. This would actually be a good thing for player welfare and open up a larger window for Test football.

Roosters certainly have the funds to do it and merging the two jnr districts would make sense. Bears are roosters feeder club now anyway so already half way there. Demographics fit well with the white collar roosters and allianz is only a short trip away. All makes perfect sense really. WC Pirates can partner with a QRL club for development pathways.
Hearing the Roosters are returning to NSW Cup

And CC decoupling from Newcastle-Hunter

Something is in the wind

Watching the Bears October update on Youtube. Chairmen makes a point a number of times about a location not being set. Makes me think they are negotiating with a number of options, he did mention Christchurch as a potential a while ago.

When that happened over 60 players were picked out of the BRL to play in the NSWRL. The remaining BRL clubs lost sponsors and media coverage dried up. Crowds dropped significantly. Clubs came close to falling over. Fortitude Valley, Pastoral Brothers, Western Suburbs and Logan City eventually went under. Wynnum Manly and Ipswich Jets came close to going under.

BRL went under in 1997 or 1998. It was replaced by the Queensland Cup. If what you're proposing happens then the Queensland Cup will go under and you'll lose a lot of long-term BRL fans who have no stake in the Penrith Panthers playing three grades of football at a shithole like the Penrith Football Stadium.

Do you not care about the game?

Bears are not getting the 18th licence. They'll never agree to the terms that are needed to succeed as a relocated team. The old codgers who think they're coming back probably have CTE.

But that was the main Broncos & Giants entry

Not National RG

Similar effect iccurred when Newcastle, Illawarra, Canberra and Auckland all wanted in

And if you include Nth Qld who setup the Blackhawks to solve their RG distance issues

We are trying to appease really only one club the Broncos

Storm will just move with the times just like did linking with the Bears, Cronulla originally before helping create the Sunshine Coast

St George recruited a large contingent of Pastoral Brothers Leprechauns players at the end of 1987. Other clubs recruited players from the BRL as well.

It pretty much killed what was the second best competition in the world in 1987.

What you're advocating will kill the Queensland Cup. That means rural and regional centres will be cut off from Brisbane, as the costs of running a statewide amateur league are too great. It will lead to more promising young players falling through the cracks because they weren't born in Brisbane. All so a few hundred elderly drunks from Sydney can watch reserve grade at a dilapidated park.

It's depressing being a fan of this game when there are so many morons from Sydney trying their hardest to kill it.

NQ use 3 sides.

The advantage is sides like Central QLD will have more spots to give more guys game time.
In a Regional team that is huge for local players

Cowboys linked their contracted players with Cutters and Pride this year. The Blackhawks were for promising development players.

Melbourne didn't create the Falcons. The Falcons are the representative team for Sunshine Coast and have been around for decades.
