Will Perth get behind the Bears? lets say the Bears actually loosened their demands and committed fully to Perth would Perth want them?
No, not really. Norths are losers, who would want to be stuck with them?. Last premiership in 1928 or something, couldn't even contribute to a merger in Sydney.
No one outside of Sydney wants or needs it.

wow we managed to go 8 posts on topic before someone derails with an inane comment. That's good going for on here.
That was a complement btw...
Besides there was a post few posts back that started slanging on the bears, so really anything goes...
Personally its the only way perth win the 18th bid, a few conditions won't mean shit in the overall scheme of things, colors, mascot, and city is all that should matter, in a decade no one will give 2 hoots about the process of these conditions, it will just be WA bears playing in their 10th season carving it up at HBF park

So it will take a Decade to correct the bad decision and brand apathy?

Sounds like a bad idea then.

Its kind of frustrating and I do sit on the fence a bit IF conditions were right.
In the current list of demands by the NS Bears there is no way it will work and I would not support it at all. In fact I'd not even become a member.
However if we were talking a genuine relocation like the Swans then it could have a wide range of benefits and actually create another potential Storm in size and strength.

20k WA members + 10k Sydney members
dedicated grassroots pathway in Sydney for NSW young talent paid for by NSLC
Perth + Sydney sponsors
massive merch sales
Instant heritage to adopt
Tv audiences in WA and NSW

There's a lot to be said for the potential.

But for it to work the club would have to be based FT in Perth, would have to change brand to include Perth or West Coast in name, would have to change club colours to include some yellow and most importantly would have to be 75% + owned by a Perth consortium. It will not work as a fifo NS Bears playing some games in Perth.

I see zero signs from NS that those conditions would be acceptable so best we leave them to find somewhere else to latch on to and keep progressing our own Perth based bids.

If it was done the right way then the West Coast Bears could be to Sydney what the Storm is to Brisbane. But that would require a full relocation to Perth and ownership by Western Australians. The Bears are too arrogant and set in their ways to step back.

That's ass backwards because north Sydney is more lucrative than perth

What wrong the brand?

You yourself said it would take a Decade for Perth people to get over the Bears connection.

Yes, just what Sydney needs, even more clubs.
