I remember there were two stars for norths so yeh probably

just imagine Perth get to inherit all that heritage ?

it would be hard to call them plastic then !

Hall never played in Sydney. Cec Blinkhorn was other champion for bears at time. Don't know his story well

That's why afl is pouring millions into NSW & qld. League has geographic advantage
Absolutely

that’s what the fools on here don’t realise

they want to copy afl but there’s a reason afl is spending billions on nsw and qld

just by holding those two states we win

Perth is nice & brings benefits but it's simply not lucrative enough for NRL to fund like afl does gws or gold coast. If they could lure twiggy away from rugby that would be ideal

I think they will have no problems finding a rich investor either the bears or another

how much value they bring to the game over the next 10 or 20 years is the issue.

the way clubs are funded now you could put a club in the Simpson desert and it could break even

so it’s actually a good time for a weaker club like Perth to join

vlandys has literally laid the platform for a Perth team to survive when before they had no chance of being admitted or of being financially viable

Maybe with a few Boomers who might remember them, but realistically how much support is a failed Sydney team who hasn't played in the NRL for 25 years going to garner in Perth?
I mean there is less time between Newton withdrawing from the comp and Norths being removed.

I would say it's far more likely they will engender a lot of distrust and bitterness towards the "East Coast" game.

There are things Perth's bid lacks that Bears can bring, eventually no one will think it is a Sydney team brought across

It is also the most isolated and so far away. The biggest thing mentioned here is the lack of a 2nd tier setup. Bears bring that, They also have sponsors on board. Again early on that is good thing while Perth takes hold
