WA BEARS

There are things Perth's bid lacks that Bears can bring, eventually no one will think it is a Sydney team brought across
There's way too much upside having an established brand port over to perth, like the bears or east tigers for that matter, in 5 years they'll be the perth team, people will forget the fact they weren't a perth team and only know of them as the perth team, it will help tremendously that they have the people in place to run the side as they do now in the 2nd tier grade, as opposed to starting fresh

Firstly, you’re using Wikipedia lol

Secondly, have a look at a few things rather than select what you want to read fit.

Look at GSP per capita for instance. It is $30k more than any other state of territory in Australia. That means the average income per person is $30k more than anywhere else

Their annual growth rate is second in Australia behind the ACT at 3.66%. That’s a pretty significant growth for a developed area.

Their state surplus is three times bigger than anywhere else in the country

To suggest that WA is poor is absolutely ridiculous and probably the dumbest argument against putting an expansion side there Sure question whether there is the support or player potential because they are valid arguments but to suggest that the area is too poor to be in the competition is severely reaching

North Sydney

Not north Sydney

the whole north shore (from north Sydney out to the spit bridge to the northern boundary, then past Asquith to the north west)

the richest parts of Sydney !

It is also the most isolated and so far away. The biggest thing mentioned here is the lack of a 2nd tier setup. Bears bring that, They also have sponsors on board. Again early on that is good thing while Perth takes hold

The 2nd tier setup is a valid argument for sure but sponsors? Really?

What level of sponsorship would the Bears realistically bring? Let’s face it they are a small club in an over saturated market.

GDP per capita is average income. It’s 30k above the rest of the country. Essentially that means that the state is loaded
I know what it is lol

it’s funny you cherry picked one stat to suit your argument

He was talking about total state gdp

Both those options allows you to host a game at Allianz or Suncorp, A trial match at the 2nd tier home ground. Keeps the East coast sponsors and fans happy, Move 1 more game to Optus + Magic Round and suddenly the side looks viable in the medium term when the gloss wears off

Compare the economic profile of North Sydney with that of Perth. It’s actually in the list of articles

North Sydney is very wealthy that’s for sure nobody is arguing that. The problem with this argument is the simple fact that there are nine other clubs in Sydney. If there was a hypothetical situation where there weren’t any or many clubs in Sydney then yes I would say put a side in North Sydney but that’s not the reality of the situation.

They have Best and Less on board to sponsor them, A National Brand that isn't currently in the game.

HP is a current sponsor, As I see none in the game. Lets not forget the old school Citibank. they had and with North Shore Financial links it wouldn't be hard to get more involved.

I believe the Bears when they say they are financed.

Yeah because he knows that is a false argument.

For instance he noted that Queensland has a total state GDP higher than WA but did he note that Queensland has twice the population of WA or did he ignore that fact because it didn’t suit his argument.

It would be extraordinary for a place with half the population to be producing more.

And? People are having a go at say somebody like Tony Sage who is a near billionaire and saying that he is not good enough (I don’t think he would be great either tbh) but apparently a comedian who has an income of $10 million is?

Sure the Bears would offer a Perth or any other location something however what they offer is overestimated in my opinion. Their list of demands are way too high as well.

T
Considering their annual growth rate (economic) is higher and their population growth rate is similar (Queensland’s fractionally higher), I severely doubt it.
Thats the forecast from people who should know lol
