I don't think the Jets or Fiji has submitted any bid. It's only formations and speculation for future bidding.

I don't think that the Bears have broken an NDA but the fact an NDA exists means the NRL would appreciate calm waters on the media front in the bidding process.. which the Bears aren't reading the room so to speak.
There's 11 bids.. I'm sure they all have a lot to say.. only staying silent and being respectful in the best play if you want the gig.

The Central Coasts Junior Reps come under the Roosters banner but not our local competition.
Only Sandon Smith has come through the Roosters Central Coast pathways which is a massive fail when you look at the talent in the NRL from the Central Coast.
The Roosters NRLW team has a heap of Central Coast talent, I think 10 players or more.
Their Coach John Strange preferred his son Ethan to come through the Raiders.

Jesus, how delusional are Balmain? There is no stand alone Balmain Tigers in the NRL if they pull out of the merger.

I’m sure if it came to the crunch Wests Tigers would be able to continue with the Tigers name as well, given they’ve been using it for the last 25 years. Happy to be corrected.

Not sure what the date is that this was released, but if that's a recent article (as in the last couple of weeks), then, umm, I think they missed the deadline if they're only talking about having 'expressed an interest' and they are looking forward to 'the bid process'.

That club, a quarter of a century after its beginning, is still divided, factions pushing and pulling for control, distrust in the other half. They still can't get along. They have players who weren't even born when they started, yet they're still the immature ones. Stand alone, the two clubs, in an already saturated Sydney market, fail. Stay together, it's still infighting and amateur hour.

I think Balmain sees North Sydney being revived of sorts, hears of Newtown attempting to revive itself, again, of sorts, and thinks to themselves 'If all these old clubs can comeback, we deserve it too. We should be back in the NRL'. They're seeing the door being opened for them and feel like walking in as well.

As others have said a while back: a way that it would work is if they divorce eachother and Balmain joins forces with Brisbane Easts for the NRL Team20 bid. Wests, if they're strong enough, claim the Wests Tigers licence and reclaim the (Western Sydney?) Magpies name.
Otherwise, it's 'bye-bye' to the both of them, the Wests Tigers are no more, the comp has an extra spot available, and the NRL has the chance of filling it with whichever bid doesn't fit the quota of Perth, PNG, NZ2, Bris3, Fiji, ect.

Maybe this would be a blessing, as it could also help de-clutter the Sydney market and have expansion without having to expand the comp beyond 20 teams.

Wasn’t that 10% basically a gift when they were contributing zero funding. Wests Ashfield could have taken 100% but chose to only take 90% to keep the Tigers in the Tigers.
That’s my memory anyway.

It was 50 50 split
