Given bears only really offer jnr patheays that we are lacking what other second tier clubs might be interested? Mounties, nsw or qlnd jets, tigers, toowomba, seagulls?
Be interesting if a WA consortium is talking to any of them as well about possible partnerships. The falcons and tigers partnership has worked very well for Storm and no reason similar couldnt for perth.

Mounties down run teams in junior developments comps.

Most QLD cup teams are aligned to someone except CQLD

The ANZAC Day game would stay in Sydney.
A couple of more event games

But the club ownership is down there.
No sports in the region also
It’s a great place, I’m on a plane to there right now lol easy to get to on train or car as well from St. George’s Sydney catchment.

Finish WIN off and play nine games there and 3 at sfs and they’re sorted. They could then do reciprocal memberships with roosters, souths and ideally eels if they play them each year in sydney so Sydney based Dragons fans can still get a 6 game membership,

Anyway back on topic. I saw in the News Limited papers an article about bustling Billy Moore and Mark Graham talking about the Perth/Bears merger.

Seemed like they know where they stand and won't go it alone. Good outcome

I know it is a joint venture but the St George side is hindering them. As the Balmain side is the WT.

yeh but they could easily switch allegiances for the right offer, they often do.
is there a reason for that for Mounties? Their colours certainly translate well to WA!

Roosters have property i Bondi junction worth over 100 million which they will develop one day into a residential and commercial tower worth 500 million. They have like ten million dollars in cash

yes their crowds are poor but they don’t need the money. I really wish with the new stadium they do try harder

as I said they compete with the Waratahs Sydney fc and swans

north qld has a new stadium and has no other competition
That's not much competition for a team based in the CBD of a city that has 5m people.

Melbourne Storm have competition from Melbourne Rebels, Melbourne Victory, Melbourne City, Melbourne United, South East Melbourne Phoenix, Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades, Hawthorne Hawks, St Kilda Saints, North Melbourne Kangaroos, Essendon Bombers, Carlton Blues, Western Bulldogs, Melbourne Demons, Collingwood Magpies and Richmond Tigers. Their crowds are better than the Roosters.

There's no excuse for Roosters to draw such shit crowds. They just don't have enough fans to fill SFS/SCG.

Most of the Roosters' competition comes from the other eight RL clubs in Sydney. Over saturation is preventing Sydney's NRL clubs from growing. It doesn't matter how many brand new stadiums you build at a massive cost to the tax payer, they won't improve attendances much because the fans don't exist in large enough numbers to fill the seats. This insanity and delusions of grandeur that flows through the veins of parochial NSWRL fans about having nine clubs in Sydney and adding a tenth is not only holding back RL expansion elsewhere and limiting the growth of the game in Sydney, it's fleecing the tax payer.

Would depend on the deal in place.
Manly had to get permission from Gus to use Blacktown. Or the PDRL could of banned the club from its comp.

Tweed Heads might have something similar with GC

Again Parramatta the District runs juniors. Mounties seniors want to play NSW Cup

I mean other than the 3 other sports they compete with it might shock you to know Sydney has a few other league teams as well

Interesting thanks, still dont understand how the Sydney jnr system works lol so who feeds the mounties snr nsw cup and womens teams?

I was thinking more Wynnum seagulls, tweed heads makes sense as Titans feeder

GROTB you know the qlnd cup landscape, any clubs in there you think would be interestEd in being a partner in a WA bid?

Just took a look at their finances, they are seriously coined, what’s stopping them from fielding all jnr grades And having an nrl link up?

cheers. The majority of bears fans seem keen, devil is always in the detail I suppose. be interesting to see if we hear any commentary from the 3 WA possible bidders. Can’t access the wa papers story but looks like John sackson has commented. I’d imagine he’d be favourable.

Couldn’t agree more. Wests Tigers should be permanently based in South West Sydney whilst Dragons should predominantly be in the Gong. That would help spread things out
