We are giving him points for the application of it, everyone said we needed another 1 or 2 more clubs in seq for decades, nobody did squat about it, PVL pushed it thru in under 2 yearsWe're giving points for thinking Brisbane needed a 2nd team now?
lol you asked, those are the two weaknesses I can see in the possible bid at the moment. Jnrs we can sort with partnership, myopic nrl leadership not much we can do about,
What makes you say that re fans? What evidence base are you going on Or is it just your biased opinion?
From what I’ve seen here I have no concerns that a perth club cant match the bigger current nrl clubs for attendances and memberships. 16k avg crowd and 25k members Is definitely doable within our first decade, especially of the stadium get another upgrade and increased capacity.
lol they said the same about the swans in their first ten years, now they are the best supported sports club in Sydney, Rome isn’t built in day. How’s storm going for fans and tv audiences?
ah the old rusted on bs. That must be why every professional sport in the country has a team in perth EXCEPT Rugby League lol.
The fact he said Brisbane needed another team to counter AwFuL but brought in The Dolphins instead of Firehawks proves he doesn't have a clue about Queensland or was telling lies. Redcliffe is about 40km away from the Lions. Firehawks are just a few kilometres away. If it was all about countering AwFuL then he would have brought in the Firehawks. You mean the same Peter vlandys who was worried about afl making further inroads into Queensland that he forced through the dolphins despite covid and the qrl saying they didn’t want another brisbane nrl team ?
he seems to have a better understanding of rugby league in Queensland than the qrl
No for doing itWe're giving points for thinking Brisbane needed a 2nd team now?
Northern coridoor was shown to be a future major growth coridoorThe fact he said Brisbane needed another team to counter AwFuL but brought in The Dolphins instead of Firehawks proves he doesn't have a clue about Queensland or was telling lies. hang on a minute! Aren’t you one of the mob saying afl expansion has been a total waste of money and afl has achieved nothing with it? Now your saying we’ve expanded to combat the massive threat they pose. Which is It?You mean the same Peter vlandys who was worried about afl making further inroads into Queensland that he forced through the dolphins despite covid and the qrl saying they didn’t want another brisbane nrl team ?

Yep I’ll give him that!We are giving him points for the application of it, everyone said we needed another 1 or 2 more clubs in seq for decades, nobody did squat about it, PVL pushed it thru in under 2 years
Looking like Perths next cab off the rank...
Look to the 9s way back in 2020, the famous uttered words of the great man, why bother spending money of rusted AFL states, well looks like they are knocking on his door willing to spend theirs, NRL shouldn't have to spend a dime on expansion, yes they could help prop it up, but when does that stop? Suns and GWS are just taking the piss...
Like ive said before keep on trucking PVL hand out licences like candy, then let them sink or swim... we should be upto 24 teams by now, stupid SL war, greedy basterds, we"d all be taking about our 3rd Victorian team and NZ4 by now, and PNG would be leading the ladder fmd
Afl is spending close to 30 million a year on both their Queensland teams when their average club gets 16 millionhang on a minute! Aren’t you one of the mob saying afl expansion has been a total waste of money and afl has achieved nothing with it? Now your saying we’ve expanded to combat the massive threat they pose. Which is It?
thats some tin foil hat you’re wearing lolLions won 3 premierships then needed to be bailed out. In past decade afl has dropped 200 million in western Sydney & still only 50 ppl turned up for a game yesterday. Above all else Perth had a team & it only lasted a few seasons.
Swans & storm are strategically important so they get all types of support & importantly are never allowed to lose. Perth won't get that treatment.

If Dolphins were introduced because Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast is a growing region with almost 800k people between them then their admission has nothing to do with combating fumbleball.Northern coridoor was shown to be a future major growth coridoor
are you trying to argue the dolphins won’t be positive for rugby league in qld and a huge negative for the lions ?
the fact easts thought anybody was giving them a license with such a bad name makes you question everything about them
Haha you can’t have it both ways! Either afl expansion is a failed experiment with no threat to RL, or Vlandys was right to bring in brisbane2 to combat the threat of afl. Which is it?Afl is spending close to 30 million a year on both their Queensland teams when their average club gets 16 million
with the population of Brisbane to boom maybe it would’ve paid off in twenty years
now they are going to get crushed in Queensland
thats some tin foil hat you’re wearing lol
now answer the question why you are 100% certain perth will have no fans and go bust. Or are you just trolling again?
We’ve all talked about this before Pippen but you keep throwing out this disingenuous line.
You know the circumstances: Adelaide and Perth didn’t fail, they were booted out at the behest of a media company. Their numbers were better than a lot of Sydney clubs- so stop using this in your arguments that we shouldn’t go there.
The dolphins weren’t brought in to attract people from east of Brisbane lolIf Dolphins were introduced because Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast is a growing region with almost 800k people between them then their admission has nothing to do with combating fumbleball.
How are The Dolphins going to combat the Lions when they're based over 40 km away?
Firehawks would have been better placed to send players to schools in eastern Brisbane and Logan to get kids thinking only about rugby league as they have junior clubs in the region. Local juniors could play for their subdistrict Tigers club then represent Easts Juniors, Easts Tigers, Brisbane Tigers and Brisbane Firehawks. Dolphins won't be able to do that, so there's no reason for kids in eastern Brisbane and Logan to choose the Dolphins over fumbleball.
Dolphins are going to struggle to win over mass support in eastern Brisbane, Redlands and Logan as they're not the local team. Easts Tigers represent eastern Brisbane and Logan and, Wynnum Manly represent Redlands.
Well if your asking me I would say sure afl expansion has been a huge failureHaha you can’t have it both ways! Either afl expansion is a failed experiment with no threat to RL, or Vlandys was right to bring in brisbane2 to combat the threat of afl. Which is it?
the afl club grants avgs out at $17.5mill per club if all got the same. They are too smart for that though and know if you want to support genuine expansion of your business it takes investment.
Last pre covid year lions got $5.5mill above that avg. they also had 28k members and a 24k crowd avg. that would put them in the top 2 or 3 nrl clubs for fan support. Geez I hope perth is that big a failure lol
Fair call to some extent but it was so obvious he only gets minimal points. No for doing it
there were two Queensland arlc bosses before him who both said it was a good idea and did zilch. So did all the other flops who were arlc bosses
The dolphins weren’t brought in to attract people from east of Brisbane lol
nobody wants to support a fire hawk when they can support a dolphin. Redcliffe literally have the best logo in the nrl
Sorry but you’re wrong all ends up lol. pre covid year it was $23mill and $27.8mill.Afl is spending close to 30 million a year on both their Queensland teams when their average club gets 16 million
with the population of Brisbane to boom maybe it would’ve paid off in twenty years
now they are going to get crushed in Queensland
