How does forcing a bid to pay a $20m licence fee help a team survive on its own. You are placing any bid at a bigger risk of failure.

A bank guarantee that they will eventually get back does that. Forcing them to pay a fee that will likely take them a decade to see a return on does not.

If what you're saying is the reason for the licence fee, why didn't the Dolphins need to pay one? Why do Perth need $30m plus the $20m? Why do they need to pay a fee to prove they can survive on their own (which is what you said in the previous post), if you are now saying they couldn't survive on that fee?

Western Reds kicked off in Round 1 on 12th March 1995. SuperLeague started their raids in the middle of the night on 1st April.

The timing and placing of the Dolphins is different to now and has absolutely nothing to do with this bid.
The owners can ask whatever they deem right for someone to buy into the company.
One year it might be $10k, the next year they may value it at $70k, after that $120k etc. It could even drop in price.
The NRL obviously didn't like the $0 value that the Cumins bid gave, and treated it as such.
Again, a stupid decision by the bid.

So in other words, you and the NRL are making it up as you go along. Notice how none of the bids have agreed to pay the $20m? Because it's a horrible business decision. The Perth bid was stupid putting $0, but this has blown up in Vlandys face as well.

No smart business person is ever going to pay a $20m fee knowing that it can just be waived for someone else whenever the NRL feels like it.

they didn’t start the raids that day …that’s when it was made public on April 1st 1995

Some teams had already agreed to move to Super League prior to this date …this included the Reds who agreed to move about a month before the season started in 1995
