So those codes can't use it once it is done?
Im not saying it wont potentially have benefit to others (though they can only 1/3rd fill it now so the benefit is probably negligible and may actually be a detriment if the rent goes up) but the fact of it is that it is only having that spend on it for an NRL club. No NRL club, no spend. Not hard to understand!

Then it isn't for NRL. It is an investment for rectangle codes and the concerts that use it.

NRL is providing extra content to make it viable to upgrade

lol, no nrl, no spend. ergo it is being rebuilt for the NRL club.

So the NRL team can just tell the Perth Glory to sod off with their demands for the new “standing only area”?

Just tell them “no NRL club, no upgrade “ … that will endear the NRL team even more with the locals

The NRL team cant tell anyone anything. Its a WA govt owned asset and they will ultimately decide what the design and money is spent on. But that has nothing to do with the fact that this investment in the stadium is tied directly to the proposed NRL club. No NRL club, no stadium investment.

That doesn’t make it NRL funding.

It just means the NRL is the final piece
of getting the funding over the line.

So the NRL should insist on the stadium design that best suits them ..and if the Glory dont like it then they can be told “No NRL club no upgrade “….

It’s your argument that this money is being spent on behalf of the NRL club right, so they need to be kept happy,,,

Perth Glory sold for $1
Super Rugby lost the Rebels

So an NRL is more content but also a stable competition that will fill the upgraded corporate

Im sure they will consult with the tenants and the NRl club will have the majority say in what gets decided given the money is being spent for their benefit. Or in typical Govt style they'll make all the decisions lol

“majority say “… lol so the NRL will get want they want then ? Gee that’s a bit of a pivot from your previous post when you said they “can’t tell anyone anything “

I suspect the Glory won’t see it that way …they have been there a lot longer

Im really not sure what you are arguing here? Ultimately the Govt will decide what it does and what it spends on HBF Park. Im sure the tenants will be consulted (you'd hope so). The point was is the $300mill+ the govt is going to invest in HBF park an investment in the NRl club.?

In reality it is as they are providing them with the facilities they need to be successful. If there is no NRL club there is no HBF park upgrade so the two are intrinsically tied together. To say otherwise because Glory and Force might get some benefit is disingenuous.

The argument is pretty simple ..

the upgrade will improve a Govt owned asset and several codes will benefit in addition to the NRL club …

It’s not $300m being spent on the new NRL club …

Im not underselling it …it will be great for the Bears … but it’s an investment in a govt owned asset to benefit the Perth community

So all people complaining about govts spending on ovals for AFL should stop as they are also used for other sports so not AFL funding only.

Obviously Perth Glory, Force and other sports and the community will benefit, but it is highly unlikely that HBF was going to get $200m+ spent on it any time soon if there is no NRL team.

Can't think any situation where a govt has spent hundreds of millions on a stadium and says it's only to be used by 1 sport.
