That might depend on the deal they get from the WA Government if it includes favourable rental terms ie corporate box revenues etc. as is done for West Coast and Fremantle at Optus Stadium

If stadium redevelopment and construction is a condition of the Lincense deal, then it kinda is for rugby league.
Kinda is not specifically

WA govt announces if Perth gets a team the stadium will be rebuilt
LU Peanuts: Yeh but its not for NRL

never change LU peanuts, never change!
Labor voter logic lol.

Kinda like women’s math.

10 games of NRL v 20 Force/Glory and several concerts....

Yep is an NRL stadium
sigh, no one is saying it is an NRL stadium. The INVESTMENT they are spending on the stadium is for the NRL club, no other reason. Once again for the hard of learning. No NRL club, no HBF upgrade.

Except Melbourne United play an outdoor game every year...

Multiple venues got used. Across Hoopsfest... 1 I thought were outside.
In a indoor stadium with a retractable roof.

It's laughable that you think basketball is regularly played on an outdoor rectangular grass field.

It's also ridiculous to try to discredit any upgrade to HBF Park because it's not "solely for the NRL"

Does it benefit the NRL? Yes, end of story.

Pvl will get more out of them which isn’t necessarily a bad thing
As long as its going to grass roots, and isnt such a stupid ask it makes the WA govt give up dealing with them, and not the NRL coffers then its a good thing for WA rugby league.

Where did I say Basketball is regularly played on outdoor fields?

They hosted a round of NBL across several venues. The main double header I thought was outside to attract a bigger crowd.

You do realise concerts and other events are at these events the grass is covered?

If they can play Ice Hockey outdoor then they can put Basketball outside

Again you have comprehension issues. I haven't said is a bad thing but $300m to fix a Stadium up doesn't equate to referees etc for the grassroots

They arent going to walk away over an extra 50 million bucks

Yes I am sure no one at the Glory or Force haven't been lobbying for upgrades...

So the argument some are putting forward is that unless the stadium can only be used for NRL it does not constitute the WA govt providing funding for an NRL team. Ain't ever going to happen, especially in a non NRL or even a pro NRL state.
I thought you considered yourself an intelligent poster?

The very thread has suggested (rightly) that any Perth Bid should consider stadium upgrades.

And suddenly when this of offered, via the Tax Payer, its "not good enough, because they also might play Frisbee golf there too"

yeh I can see that conversation.
WA clubs: err can you spend another $300mill plus on HBF park please to add more boxes and capacity.
WA govt: dont you only get 7k to games and sell only a third the current boxes?
clubs: err yeh
WA govt: ok bye.

Care to point me to where anyone has said the upgrades aren't good enough?

Yet in the press conference to announce this.

The govt said Stadium deal discussions have been part of it.

So in Feb, they start discussions with Perth Glory.... the 2 go together

Notice how the upgrades haven't been offically confirmed?
