Pretty funny that guys thought Bears hosting games in Sydney was a bad idea are now asking why they aren't investing more

No people are asking why they get to demand things like permanently using their name, while they aren't contributing anything. They profit off of it without putting in a cent.

People are asking why they get to demand a game at North Sydney oval without contributing anything.

People are asking why bids are being forced into a relationship with them when they are contributing nothing.

Pretty sure their plan all along was to get one game a year, two would've been a bonus.
But you can't begin negotiating at one or you could end up with nothing, or just a trial, which means nothing anyway.

I agree with this take ..: but someone else is suggesting that potential investment in the team is being withheld because they aren’t playing more games in Sydney …

They don’t hold all the cards lol

The ARLC does.
The ARLC told Perth it the Bears or nothing.

That's a shit way to run a process.

It should be a total clean slate.

This arrangement will see the Bears jump ship the moment they think they see a better opportunity.

That’s not what he said lol

He said the same people asking for the bears to invest in the team will be the same ones complaining when the bears then ask for more home games

Greater bears involvement means more control and home games over the team

The previous bid team had zero interest in this

so how much money do you expect them to put in for more games? $5m perhaps ?

The WA Govt is putting in $300m to redevelop their stadium … this could be subject to a minimum number of games being played there … why possibly put that at risk ?

If the bears fans are so passionate they have the option of attending away games when the frankenbears travel to Sydney.

Playing at a hovel is keeping to the past - isn't that what you peanuts are against?

Yes - There is also the option of seeing 5-6 away games in Sydney every year …

Some people here are already having problems remembering that this is actually a Perth team

Take out the a league and super rugby games and sure that might be a valid argument

Reality is the Cummins bid wanted 100 percent ownership of the club so asking the bears to then put money in was kinda stupid

There are loads of bears investors that would love to put money into this bid and own a chunk of it

With the arl running things im sure this is what will happen

And also bears leagues club to increase junior funding

Of course they did cause the clubs and TV hold out hope that the Bears fans will attend away games.

Instead of adding a new Perth team bringing no fans and not watching because locals are still at work.

Particularly if the season does get reduced. An NRL club could potentially have Perth ( insert name ), Dolphins and PNG as home games.

Clubs are PVL's boss afterall.

Again if the reports are out of step with what the clubs want. Someone will go to media, There has been nothing to suggests clubs don't agree with this
