Yeah, that's been the case for years now. Origins and Grand Finals being shown on Nine being the exceptions. And during the Olympics, where I think some games were on ..uhh... whatever the other 9 station is (I'm having a blank moment!). *EDIT: 9Go.*Does nine show games in Perth on gem regularly ? A Perth fan told me he watched tigers sharks on gem live.
Is that a regular thing for all the fta games each week ?
As recently as 15yrs ago possibly, games were only shown after midnight on Friday and Sunday nights (Origins and GFs exepted) ... unless a tennis or golf tournament was on, in which case the NRL would be lucky to start before 4am.
The worst was 2000 or 2002 (I forget which). Even Origin that year was a 30mins highlights package at about midnight. I was over visiting family in Newcastle, and coming home I was in the small plane coming to Sydney that also had Ben Kennedy, Adam MacDougall, and maybe one or two other Knights who'd been selected for NSW. I was explaining to them this 30mins Origin game highlights was all Perth had gotten for the previous game or two, and BK was astounded at how bad that was.
These days I'm a middle-aged man who never takes NRL live on TV for granted ... especially here in Perth.
