The Chinese TV company hisense recently sighned a big sponsorship deal with the NRL . All this despite AFL having a truly national footprint , and having been trying to attrack sponsorship from China for years.

lol and afl have already got Samsung. Typical, nrl Gets a cheap arse brand whilst afl has the prestige brand.

Funny that all these points are ones that you use to argue against Melbourne

Maybe more teams in Brisbane will send the cowbiys backwards like you think it will the storm

Canberra arent going anywhere, they are one of the few things we have that the AFL doesn't, a full time team in the Nation's Capital. Get them an undercover CBD stadium and they are set, im assuming people from all across the Riverina also follow the raiders
TV ratings for Raiders are not very good.

Cowboys are a major deal all throughout North Queensland. Fans like me will never ditch the club. We've been there with the club throughout the hard times.

Melbourne cannot say its fans have stuck by them through the hard times.

20,000 expatriates from the eastern states attending an NRL game in the 00s isn't proof that Perth can support an NRL team. Many of those expatriates have moved back home now that the mining boom is over.

The fact that the biggest advocate for a Perth based NRL team is a whinging soapdodger from England who immigrated to Australia 20 years ago says everything we know about how little the joint cares about the game.

I think there only a club sponsor, aren't they ? not a major sponsor.

The Roosters had them for years , twice actually.

2013 sell out
2014 16.1k avg
2015 sell out
2016 12.2k avg (more than Wollongong, Kogarah, belmore, brookvale, St’s and on par with Bruce and Campbelltown)
2016 Sell out test match
2018 38k Double header
2019 22k nines
2019 60k origin

we’ve had one poor year that was heavily rain affected in last 7!

fans will be dropping off though as sick of nrl rhetoric on expansion, and with Vlandys comments expect a lot less in the future, why should we waste our money on nrl with that attitude? Fans were selling out nib as they thought it would show the nrl we were ready for a club again. They ignored us. You reap what you sew.

no they are an afl sponsor. Samsung has the largest global market share for tv sales and is a far more prestigious brand.

Well done to Joondalup Giants in beating South Perth to get to GF. Fremantle and Rockingham currently into ET for the remaining place!

Obviously not this year but It would be great if the NRLWA and NRLVIC premiers played a game against eachother at he end of the season, would add a bit more interstate experience than just the Affiliates championship

ive often thought it would be great to see a challenge cup style knockout club cup for vic, wa and nt clubs and maybe the next level down from nsw and qrl cup clubs. But yeh a wa v vic club superbowl would be fun.

cheers, will have to get along to the final. Would be good to see a Giants win.

No worries, should be a good day. North Beach v South Perth in both league tag and reserve grade, Freo v Ellenbrook in the ladies tackle. Northside winning all grades would be good.

It would be good to see the NRLWA better funded from juniors to seniors. Imcrease the quality and quantity of players in WA and it will be hard to deny Perth a spot in the NRL.

It’s a simple equation of money in, number and quality out.
Thank god for Peter cumins or we wouldn’t have any elite jnr programs if were relying on the nrl!

What on earth are you on about hahaha, ratings fell off a cliff in Queensland this year after one sub-par season for their teams. Queensland sports fans have always been as fickle as they come, see how much the Lions have benefited from their form recently and in past seasons of strength. AFL outrating the NRL in the supposed "Heartlands" of Brisbane, what a complete joke. I admire your commitment to your team but indicating that attitude is reflective of the QLD population at large is a complete misonomer.

Melbourne has a consistent sporting culture of attendance across all codes of sport and the Storm has routinely outdone teams in league strongholds for years. Likewise Perth produces strong support the vast majority of occasions they are able to access the sport despite the relative pittance they are given.

Broncos and Cowboys are the 1st and 3rd most watched teams around the country, due to their large fanbase in Queensland. Broncos vs Cowboys games draw high ratings and attendances.

Melbourne Storm draw terrible ratings in Storm, despite finishing in the top foue each year. Up until this year an average of 17,000 people from Melbourne watched Storm games on 9Gem. This year it was over 30,000 courtesy of COVID-19 having Victorians locked up and no AwFuL games in Melbourne, with many games broadcast on weekmights, which meant less clashes with NRL games.

Sydney Swans draw larger attendances than all of Sydney's NRL teams. Does that make New Aputh Welshmen fickle?

I wouldn't even know how the Lions went this year. I don't follow fumbleball.
