You see Pogo the bloke has not even PROVED himself on the wing so how the f*** is he going to PROVE himself at fullback?

Mitch Brown on the other hand has proved himself at fullback in PL. Untill Simmo does just that i will continue to bag him.

First grade is NOT the place for Simmo to prance around and learn how to be a fullback. Thats what PL is for.

although I have heard people talk about gun players like ciraldo, Dumas.
Ice is not young & opinions are definitely split with him.
Bird is another who is just despised by most.

i think his strengths are well suited to fullback

he is good under the high ball, covers the field well

i do think it will be half a season of pain while he gets used to it though

he has a lack of confidence sure and he isnt a very aggresive defender

he is learning to try to split defenders though

he has the speed to get it when he does get the technique right

i just think singleing him out every week is a little below people like you reefy

Peach had a bad game but wasn't alone. However Pogo you contradicted your own arguement when you said he needs to be sacked, but then went on to say later that there are no alternatives due to the cattle we have at the club not being adequate and no obvious replacement is there.

You support Simmons for the position, A player that has not been playing fullback at all in the past few years, and is often seen to be being coached positionally in his current WING spot by bailey and Vagana continually all year. I dont have to tell you the intricasies of Fullback postional play far far more subtle and important that wingers postional play, and Simmo hasnt grasped the easier version yet......

If, as you say we don't have the cattle, then surely the answer is to opt for the experienced player at fullback for the rest of the season ? he has been in good form prior to saturday and dropping him just doesnt seem logical to me.

Simmons can have a go in the trials at number 1 next season and we all shall see what transpires, with our added Backs coming to the club next season, I personally think simmons has a steep uphill battle in order to resist player the lions share of matches in reserve grade.

my post where i said we didnt have the players in reserve grade wasnt relative to simmons, i firmly believe he will make an outstanding full back.

the players in general in reserve grade are not up to first grade at cronulla let alone the teams we are competing against.

then i would love to sit you down and give you a look at videos of his games this season , you like others here see what they want, with due respect.
a fact is many good judges include some ex players are laughing at how bad he is playing.
blind loyalty to players out of form and well past their used by date will never ever give you a title.

thankfully the club stuart raper and steve rogers recognise this fact, at least in relation to david peachey.

On a play by play basis, it is clear that peachey is the best back in the club.
It is clear that after having a safe shot all year, Simmons is the worst back.
do you acknowledge the fact that simmons would never make first grade at any other club in the NRl. Proof of this is that not one NRL club has ever chased simmons for a contract. or ever will.Further proof to that is ex players now consider him a joke. Ex Shark players & ex internationals.
So the question is clear, do you not now accept the fact that Simmons is the Sharks worst back?

Sadly, we have a problem here (as with many positions) when we have very little options, and we will need to develop our juniors quickly, or pull a roosters and buy the best juniors.

I don't think Simmons is useless, just don't think he is as good as Pogo thinks.

I don't think Peachey has been terrible all year. In fact, he has been very good on several occasions. He was apalling last week though.

I was being extreme on Simmons, but i just wanted to get a point across that they are both not a good idea for the future. I never said peachey has been 'terrible' all year, but i dont think he has a played well for the majority of the season.
