It wasn't credible in the slightest.

9 had ample opportunity to show a replay of the incident yet the only follow up was from an unnamed source.

So?

Your issue then is that 9 are useless for failing to show the replay of the incident at the time, not that they're biased.

You do realise they showed a replay of it after the game that confirmed it wasn't a knock-on?

More sick of Gus saying YEAR AFTER YEAR "QLD look tired".....every time he says it QLD win.

Lol Gus acts like a complete moron sometimes, no doubt about it. "They're out on their feet here". Still, being an idiot is a step up professionally from Wally, who was cheering and jeering into the microphone.

Very objective presentation last night.

Especially loved it when Rabs assured us that the 9 sources had reviewed the Merrin incident and it wasn't a knock on.

Well, it wasn't... so yeah. Not that that lends any weight to your position anyway, no replay is typical Nine crap rather than a secret vendetta against QLD.

It seems very, very convenient that they didn't replay what was a crucial call which went in the Blues favour and downplayed the impact it had on the try.

Yeah ... had a laugh at the "Queensland are staggering" comment, which was made as the camera showed a shot of the entire team preparing for a drop out all looking very keen and enthusiastic.

Let's not forget that Mr Gould made THE BIGGEST DUD CALL in league history when eight years ago he called on Darren Lockyer to step down from the Queensland team.

Lockyer went on to win four of the five next Origin series, multiple Test matches for Australia, two premierships and numerous other awards and accolades.

And yet Gould still has the hide to portray himself as some know-all guru.

Pfft.

haha, Gussy boy. "Look at these queenslanders-you could throw a sheet over them!"

I agree that it would have been suspicious - if it was a knock-on.

If 9 were so worried about being biased towards NSW they wouldn't have let that blithering fool Lewis in the commentary box in the first place yelling out random pro-Queensland support.

'Go you good thing!'

Think you've the tin foil hat on here. Or you're just forgetting about 9's general ineptitude.

To play semantics, I'm not sure how a 100% correct call really can be described as anyone's "favour". They did NSW a favour by not making the incorrect call, I guess?

It was 9's attempt to 'balance' out the commentary panel. Obviously 3 NSWmen are always going to lean towards the Blues and we definitely heard that through Rabs and Gould's call and we've put up with that for years and years. Yet, here we have a thread dedicated to a commentator who probably said the least all night.

Compelling evidence Apey.

I've already been through this but:

Warren - Barely counts as pro-NSW, he's basically a play-by-play and nothing more.

Gus - passionately NSW without a doubt, and can make some painful comments as some have pointed out, but more often than not tends to just go with the team who is on top and talk them up in an effort to prove himself right.

Sterlo - probably the most level-headed and impartial regular commentator of all especially considering he is a former NSW player, don't think he could be accused of regular or obvious bias.

And you're right, Wally probably said the least all night, which made the times when he did hear his 'commentary' all the more inept and ludicrous.

Forget the other blokes for a second, go back and listen to all the times Wally opens his mouth last night and tell me it's not an embarrassing performance.

With regards to what? If you're talking about the call itself, they did finally show a replay after the game and it was very clear there was no knock-on.

Until you can provide evidence and not just hearsay you can't claim it was a 100% the right call.

I caught a replay of the game myself and it still appears to be a knock on.

I wonder why we disagree?

For now, let's just agree that Rabs' source was an embarrassment and leave it at that.

That's putting it very very lightly.

Some of their calls over the years have been akin to the Pommy callers. There has been a bit of 'us vs. them' over the years both during the game and in the lead up to the actual event.

As it stands, we received a compromise last night. You guys don't like Wally - we don't like Gould.

You are losing the plot, what are you talking about?

They showed a replay of the incident, it was 100% clearly not a knock-on.

So WTF is your point?
