LOL.
I can't believe what I'm reading here, are you guys simply dim or just obnoxious?
Complaining about the commentary and the level of bias from Wally, really?
Do you think the shirts that say 'shut up gus' are just for cutesy?
It was refreshing because someone was actually pulling for Queensland not NSW, either way if it bothers you that much then do what us queenslanders have done for years and turn it to mute.

This times 1000000
These knobs cant complain about the refs because every call went their way so they have a go at the king.
Some moron on here said rabs wasnt bias ffs.

I thought my point was pretty clear.

Produce some footage or back down.

Why? Everyone else on here now knows it wasn't a knock-on as they saw the replay.

You're the one who either didn't see it or is living in denial. You produce the footage of the knock-on or back down.

They all happen to support the beneficiaries.

You're claiming it's 100% correct and I'm simply asking for proof. A reference and hearsay doesn't alleviate the situation.

Thanks for the link.

It still doesn't sway my opinion on the way the coverage handled it. Only one person really spoke up about it and he happened to support the other side and the best we received at the time was a passing mention from Rabs.

A controversial call like that should be replayed at the first stoppage which they had. Rabs' insistense in a very hush hush manner was insulting.

Those of my thoughts take 'em or leave 'em.

Really ... shouldn't be surprised at the bias of the Channel 9 coverage. The Sunday Footy Show is usually three or four NSWers dissecting the games.

That's why Queensland are so great - we love being the underdogs and the disregarded.

comparing Wally's performance to Gus is laughable, Wally sounded like a biased Fittler in the background.
It isn't laughable it's realistic, take your blinkers off.
"QLD are on the ropes right here"

"QLD are staggering"

Or 'I know Qld are leading but NSW are on top here'
Rod, even it wasn't a knock on why didn't they show it until after? Rav thought it was, wouldn't have been hard to do.....

Does anybody else reckon Joey was two parts pissed at half-time when him and that woman were interviewing the guy from Man U?

Yes, I agree Gus' "Qld are tired" "Qld are out on their feet" is on the same level professionally as Wally's "YEEEEHAAAHHH!!!!!" "Noooo!!!!", "Go you good thing!!". You are completely delusional.

Can't NSW just win one game from the death? Just one?

I must admit that was a nice change from the usual 'Queensland always score last. ALWAYS."

Yes, I agree Gus' "Qld are tired" "Qld are out on their feet" is on the same level professionally as Wally's "YEEEEHAAAHHH!!!!!" "Noooo!!!!", "Go you good thing!!". You are completely delusional.

Exactly.

Dunno, that's a fair question. I put it down to their general ineptness at not being onto it sooner. For whatever reason they were slow on the uptake and didn't get the replay ready in time, and then didn't want to show it during the live action. Just a guess, a lot more likely than a NSW conspiracy anyway IMO.

We could go back and forth forever with examples of the commentators showing their allegiance, but the fact is joey jumping up and down or gus saying NSW are on top doesn't disprove or cancel out Lewis carry on like an absolute idiot all game. I can handle johns showing his NSW bias, I can even handle Fatty and Tallis making their braindead comments at halftime, but Lewis' shtick was that bad it almost ruined the game for me. Seriously, forget Qld allegiance vs NSW allegiance, who wants to hear HOOOOOOO! everytime a try is scored, or OOOooOOOH! whenever something exciting happens?

Gus may be NSW bias but he does provide comments and insight other than just blatantly cheering for NSW. Wally offered NOTHING. He could just as easily have been wired up while watching the game at home with a six pack and some chips. It can't be compared to Gus' commentary at all, Gus sounds like the world's greatest orator alongside that dribble.

Exactly

Wally's job was to commentate. He failed to do his job because he was cheering and yelling half the time.

Gus might be biased, but he still did his job and commented on the game.

Two different dynamics.

Gould absolutely dominated the coverage last night and made it his mission to make it a very NSW oriented call. He wasn't as blatant about his bias as Wally but his influence on the call was far greater.

Every Queensland fan can understand the frustration about bias Origin calls, we've been dealing with it for decades now. It's just part the parcel of the presentation.

Yeah.

Right.

You won the Series - what's wrong?

Lewis, Fatty, Tallis, all hacks. Hacks of the highest order that make first-year law school drop out Gould look like a Professor.

You still don't get it.

The problem isn't really the bias. If Wally actually sat and made pro-Queensland points but made them like a normal person or even made them like Gus does, most people wouldn't have nearly as much of a problem with it as they do. You think if Wally had sat there and said things like 'Queensland are on top here' or 'NSW look shaky' there'd be as much criticism of him as there has been?

No. The problem was he sat there for 80 mins grunting and yelling any time Queensland did something like a drunk gorilla, barely stringing two coherent sentences together without some sort of WOOOOO or YEAA OH YEEAAH thrown in between. It was not only extremely pointless but extremely annoying to listen to.

The way you imply it, the only reason we didn't like this style of commentary is because we aren't from Queensland. As a Queensland fan, were you actually happy with his input and enjoyed his commentary? That's how you'd like to be represented in the commentary box?

That makes two of us then.

My point didn't have anything to do about his style. Lewis' influence on the coverage was minimal in comparison to Rabs and Gould who spoke mainly from a NSW POV and have done so for years.

It's part the parcel and I find it humerous that you nearly allowed the King to ruin the coverage for you when he could barely get a word in edgewise for the majority of the game.
