Walsh to Penrith?

Whats Doing

Our biggest problem 2 years ago was not recruiting a decent halfback when the mass clean out occurred. With Smithy being a half back himself, that was really surprising.

Now we are down to Rogers and Dureau to steer the ship. Heaven help us.

If I was the knights I would make a play for Ben Hunt from the Broncs. He is only young but he has Wallace in front of him for quite a few years. He is a standout.

Actually I wouldn't mind Carney. Hmmm whats Tim Smith up to nowadays? Would Brian and Tim still be in contact? Coming to Newcastle sometime would be something that would pop up during the conversation surely?

And I'd just like to say - I told you all in 2004 that the coaches were mad for replacing Scotty in SG Ball with Walsh - Scotty was always better.
Nah nah nah.

Well it will be very interesting to see who plays more first grade between the two by the end of the year. Walsh at the Panthers or Supersub at the Knights.

After all, Penrith weren't knocking on the door asking to sign Supersub?

Our first bi-polar halfback worked out well.

Maybe we didn't make supersub available and told Walsh he was free to look around?

Well of course.

Any club would make a reserve grader available on 150K+.

One of the worst signings in the history of the Knights as far as value for money went.

Luke MacDougal isn't too far behind.

And Danny Wicks bloody close up to them as well.

Wicks may be terrible value for money but at least he's played most of last season unlike Walsh and Doogs Jr.

He's got a good strategic kicking game from what I remember but he's not hugely powerful in his kicks.

Wow...did not see this coming, at least not yet anyway. Good buy for Penrith and you have now got yourselves a genuine halfback. Might not be the best in the comp, but he has the skills. In fact I was really looking forward to seeing him get a run this year given he has partly shaken off his Coote-like dimensions...which leads me to below:

Wouldn't have minded that Coote fella plus $50K for Walshy then.

I just double checked on the Panthers website mate and he is the exact same height and weight as me - 175cm/73kg. So for those of you who have met me (and I know Pika enjoyed making fun of me yesterday :p) can you imagine someone that size returning the ball from fullback in todays game? I think not.

Good luck Walshy!

PS: He is decent at that Fibro

What will that prove?

That a guy earning $$ and sitting on the bench is a better fit at another club, than another guy who was on the bench this week.

Sean Rudder would b a better Halfback than Dureau and Walsh by that rationale.

Michael Witt has been told by Ivan CLeary that he won't be playing in the NRL this year - Could we entice him over for that money we save on Walsh???????
.
Ben Rogers problem would then be solved!!!!!!!!!
