Only if Taupiki also injured.

Dunno why the full link isn't showing below, but that's a real link to a stuff article on the injury, not just to stuff

Yeah I am behind that. Tauipiki looks exciting and prodigious, but I just wonder about his size. I’m sure there’s a plan around that, but I wonder if them temptation to shift RTS to fullback will get to be too much in CNK goes out with a longer injury, with Pompey and Leuitaua available (assuming Berry is the other centre)

Also, somethings got to give on the bench. We were already small with Walker/Tevaga and even Lussick. Throw CHT into the mix. Then you have TMM. I guess we have players who can play big minutes- AFB, Harris, Capewell, Barnett, maybe….even *gulp* Ford. Its going to be interesting to see how Webster comes at this.

Yea its an interesting bench isnt it.

And Marata being there alongside Bunty confirms he'll spend a lot of time in the middle. Dude is a strong wherever he plays but IMO he's a weapon the edge. Cant help feeling he's a wee bit wasted carting up in the middle.
Also means both edge combinations are new, assuming Ford has shifted to the right to accommodate Capewell playing his usual left side.

But in Webby we trust I guess. Been a long time since I've looked forward to a trial match.

Yeah, well, my feelings about Ford haven't changed. In saying that, we've been lamenting the absence of another middle- maybe Niukore can be that. Might also help with his tackle technique, defending in the middle.

So, who will be 17th man come round one?

Bunty/Ale/Lussick/or a spare NRL capable half.

Good problems to have, only one spot under question and plenty of options thanks to Capwell and Ford being eighty minute players, you could carry a spare hooker or a back who may not play.

Webster liked carrying Sirro last year meaning a very small bench, rather than the conventional carrying of at least two big men on your bench that can play at prop and thirteen, edge backrow in an emergency.

Really not worried about it for this week as it’s a trial bench and the goals are different. Round one will be a different matter up against a heavyweight Sharks pack.

Any particular reason?

I don't dislike him as such, big engine, works hard etc. so I can see why Webby is a fan, and with Capewll and Harris, they'd form arguably the hardest working backrow in the comp which is obviously cool.

But all just feels a bit same/same... Harris has nice hands, but none of those guys will hit an edge like a Nikora or a Martin. Marata could though.
