Is that pitch really that bad? It looked like they’d assessed 220 would be a cracking score on it. Yes it looked slow as hell and near impossible to hit in front of the wicket but they weren’t rotating the strike either.

I’m sure Taylor walked out with a seeing eye dog. The way he was batting it was like a day 47 Delhi pitch.
yeah yeah, sure...

Perhaps the pitch isn't as difficult as it looked, I'll buy that - but the Indian bowling was tremendous - maybe they're just much stronger than us at the moment, and it was a battle to stay in it - aside from Williamson and Taylor (and sometimes the allrounders) bowling is clearly our strength - so maybe they figured not losing wickets and collecting runs would give us a Duckworth Lewis fueled chance...(which it would have) as it turned out that didn't happen so we're stuck with what will be an under par score, but still with the bowlers at least knowing they need to knock India over... and hopefully the captain shedding some conservatism to support that

I was looking at the scorecard... Taylor’s aim should be to get a century...

There’s 23 balls left in the innings... I’d say the aim from the NZ batsman would be to look at a further 50 runs from here.

Take the score up over 250-260 and then I guess put the pressure on with the ball.

But i think if Taylor can take nearly all the strike and go big he might just make up for the slow way he batted.

Not really cool with how this plays out.

Would rather they just start again.

Is what it is.

OMFG... you know you're struggling when this shit comes out - nearly as bad as Ben Stokes Mum phoning Radio Hauraki - that is kind of impossible to beat TBH (for anyone that didn't hear that, it's true gold

but wee Laura having a go

To be fair... she is a member of the media... so it’s a little different then a random ringing a radio station

Yeah, she's 100% gonna be asked about it. Unlike ringing a radio station to defend a bloke who clearly throws a decent right...

I mean she’s being interviewed... what was she supposed to say??

“Ohhh he’s playing like dogshit at the moment and they should probably move on from him....”

I think she answered it as I would have expected her to.

Run a ball gets 234. Anymore would be a bonus considering what a mess they made of the first half of the innings.

Hopefully it's not less....

I'm so glad they kept selecting Latham based on nothing but a bizarre reputation he hasn't earnt.

Nicholls and Latham still feel like test match players to me and not much else.

Shame we don't really have the depth to have completely different test and ODI teams.
