What changed in today's game that blokes in reserves don't get called up anymore when their postion of expertise becomes open through injury.

It's another cop out to save Sheens.

Nothing. Look how well Townsend and Sam Williams have stepped up for their clubs as required

Doesn't exist in our club.
Injured fullback, move the half there.
Injured 5/8, let's try a 2 centres, lock and hooker and then a centre again.
Injured hooker, let's try the lock we tried at 5/8 before the reserves hooker.

What a cluster f**k of senility.

More like a huge vote of no confidence in the BRET & Magpies State Cup teams or even the U20's side. So much for bringing on and developing young players................ I wonder if this is an obstinate streak displayed over the 2 x State Cup teams, in that until they become one Sheens wipes his hands of them as back up for the main players unless extreme circumstances force him eg Koribete.

When we lose on Saturday, I have enough faith in our coach to know that there won't be excuses.

He'll give 4,000 reasons no doubt, not one of which will have him accepting 1% of responsibility for said plight

Lewis had just two things he did very well which is what we have always needed and lacked since prince left.

A good long kicking game and good passing.

He was no Cronk, but we don't need that. He woukd have been a perfect fit at halfback.

My problem is, i see blatantly obvious mistakes, whereas you have no objectivity whatsoever.

Nothing in football is perfect, but you seem to try very f**king hard to dispel that, thinking everything is fine and finishing outside the top 4 is ok, even missing the finals is fine.

But didn't Lewis also play for the Dragons and the Roosters? And I guess these coaches of these two clubs were also wrong. But I guess I am not being objective.

Your right. Not many players that Sheens has let go or supposedly not given a chance too have gone on and become quality first graders. Not many have even been first graders.

They had halfbacks in the NRL side. We had a depth hooker at halfback in the NRL side.

So yes, you aren't being objective.

doesn't mean that they were worse than those Sheens picked in first grade though.
Lewis would have been a better five eighth and halfback than Fitzhenry and Morris.

Then again, meaney would have been a better fullback option this year after tedesco's injury and Miller or Humble would have been better halves options than Lawrence, Ayshford and Fulton.

Politoni would have been a better hooker option than Iosefa, Humble or Fulton

Maybe - but it also doesn't mean they would be better and it does mean that they never proved Sheens wrong.

We will never know.

You can't be sure - personally I think Miller has been given a truckload of opportunities. I think Humble hasn't been given enough of a go. I also agree that Politoni would be a good option at dummy half however he is young and small and these points can count against him for now.

Tom Humble has to be in the wrong camp or something along those lines to not be given a proper go at half this season.Although he didnt do anything out of the box ,he was solid in all his appearances and more than anything seemed to be very level headed.

Obviously the wrong fit for our shines and benji schizo gameplan and style of play..

Solid and let Benji do his best work two wide. Plus has a great kicking boot (actually does not just Loltzen style PR) and dangerous runner in the style of Robson with step and acceleration

Sheenius to move him out of that role

Yet humble is named on the bench this week for whatever reason.

How can a team be consistant when the coach isn't?
Sheens needs to be committed at Callo and march up there at fulltime tomorrow.

Everyone has a use-by date, as stated earlier in the thread.

The Tigers "window" is now shut. If you look back at my visionary, errr, vision, fronm the start of the year I said that, even though it was logical that you'd be faves, that the exits from teh finals the previous two years would be hard to bounce back from and they have been.

Time to refresh. Just like it is at my club. We won a comp two years ago. Half that squad is now gone. We are rebuilding and will be seriously looking to challenge again, to be in our "window" going into 2015. We will be looking to win a comp in that window. I hope to christ our current coach can prove he's the man for the job, he'll be given a chance to go in to next year to prove he is. If he isn't we'll have the next coach lined up mid season at latest. We'll be looking at the list and recruiting where we are weak and we'll recruit for leadership I reckon (f**k we had better be anyway.)

This isn't reckless. Its the realisation that an era has ended. The people there now will have fair chance to prove their up for the job. Or they'll be moved on.

I support your calls for the same to happen at Wests Tigers.

Apart from anything else, its as clear as day that its just time man.

It won't though. You know why? Because Benji runs the joint.

I'd happily move him on too if I were in charge and looking to refresh the club.

matchball, I can see it now, he comes off the bench, adds spark around the ruck provides great service to Marshall, has a blinder and the Tigers win. At the press conference:

Sheens: young Humble did well today, we always knew he could play like that and he is a valuable member of our squad,

Press: he could have provided that service all year if given a chance,

Sheens: I don't think so, we had young Moltzen at 1 and after young Sironen was hurt we had other options and decided that the best was to play Benji as 7.

Thanks Tim
