You know what is funny about that, your the one taking the plaudits of a Christian Conspiracy theorist, whose rallying against the Masons.
Yes smartarse I was not there because my 83 year old mother is a bit more important to me than this club.
Was Denis's hand visible up the back of John Fenwicks back when the question was asked??
The NSWRL has about as much pull in the NRL as my 83 year old mother.

Mark I nodded off after the second line, you obviously have not a clue about what players can accept and how it affects the salary cap. Why did Souths players have to hand back mobile phones, players cannot even accept a watch without being scrutinised on whether it will affect the salary cap. The whole thing is a restriction of trade, and if it was enforced on you or anyone else on this forum, you would be up in arms.

Actually I am agnostic pagan whose father played fullback for the masons.
Mark have a Bex and a lay down.......WTF
If you want to get to insults, then it truly shows your mentality.
I said it was fine that you weren't there but don't make bold statements of fact when they are not true. I have no problems with you not being there, just get your facts straight if you are going to try to insult me.
Also I am not going to make any personally allusions to Mr Fenwick's motives, as I have stated I thought he did a dis-service to his point when he mentioned Denis was to be granted life membership of the NSWRL, as it made his point seem petty instead of the point a number of people I have spoken to are upset about, that for the first time in 62 years, the Parramatta club and district was not represented at the NSWRL AGM by an elected official, there are 10 elected officials, who could have attended we have heard reasons for 1 and the CEO. The other 10 were all busy and couldn't put this issue before all of their pressing personal matters at the time. If so that is unfortunate, but still via the NSWRL and the ARL, as well as Directly to the NRL would be a good way to ask what is happening with the IC.
The NSWRL are partners with the QRL in the ARL, incase you haven't been following the media they are the ones that voted to approve the IC, now the ARL with that approval is finalising negotiations with News to leave our game on November 1.
Yes that would be called modern day rugby league, and how to win a premiership.
Mark my mentality sees through smug backhanders, so if you insulted by my comments dont throw smug backhanders, or dont communicate with me, your choice.
Fenwick has been aligned with Fitzgerald for 30 years, so you know exactly what their motives were Mark, because you spoke to someone in that faction on a regular basis, so dont blow smoke up my salmon mate.
The only thing which is of major concern of the NSWRL, the ARL and the QRL is that the blokes who are on the boards dont lose their blazer or their drink. If you think News are going to be out by negotiation by November one, your kidding yourself, they wont have completed the Storm investigation and will be still suing themselves in court.
Pretty sure that all the clubs and players are aware that the cap is in place to ensure that all clubs are viable for the long term, Terry. If the players don't like then maybe they should play AFL with Izzy. Oh, hold on they have a cap too as to the NBA, NFL, Canadian Football League etc - funny about that.
Well I hope you put that on your Census form next year, we are looking for all the "Pagan -" we can muster.

A remedy to fix this game real fast is this (here are just a few quickly jotted down)
1. 12 players (not 13) on the field
2. 3 on the bench (not 4)
3. more rewards for scoring longer distance tries
a) 2 points for tries scored from kicks inside the 50 meter line
b) 3 points for barge over tries
c) 4 points for tries scored from your dead ball line to half way including tries scored from kicks
4. 2 points for all goals/penalty kicks (as is)
5. 1 point for field goals (maybe 2 points if kicked from inside your half-way)
6. The extra 32 players freed up can help feed another 2 clubs who join the NRL
7. Keep interchange to ten times during game.
8. Take time out for all stoppages - Time on only during play the ball. All restarts have a 40 second limit or be penalised by ref.....
9. Kick ball out in opponents dead ball area - restart from half way in opponents favour
10. Kick ball out inside opponents half restart from 30 meter line in opponents favour
11. Keep 40/20 + introduce a 20/30
12. Reduce top 25 to top 23
The whole idea is to improve the attacking game via incentives while keeping a strong defense (12 players), rewarding fitness and endurance. Lazy trainers/players will be shown up too quick, forced to train harder. Cap money can be spread around (especially with increase).
I also like the idea that all top 23 players income starts at a minimum of $100k (a lifetime of a stuffed body after footy needs to be compensated) maybe that minimum should be $120k - this is another incentive to break through into 1st grade.
All juniors (from its region) developed by a club are rewarded with an extra $100k after playing 2 or 3 years in the top grade. All juniors after 5 years at the top are exempted from the cap and can earn whatever (no limit). This will force a few more Sydney clubs to merge so they can compete but this will also open up the NRL to expand Australia wide. Once a player leaves from his junior base, he has to play 10 years at the top for another club to be exempted from the cap while he remains at the club. Once a player completes 12 years of 1st grade he is exempted from the cap and can play for any club he chooses.
Obviously there is more but this will do for now.
Its time to piss off News Limited/NRL, take back the game and turn it into the best game in the world to watch... We can do it..... AND we will if we take this game back from the cabal.
Gronk I agree with what you are saying about clubs survival, and there has to be a cap, but the restrictions on what players can do off the field is ludicrous. These blokes have a very small window of their life to make a bird of the situation, who are the NRL to tell you what you can do off field. Gronk saying they can go and play AFL with Izzy is bullsh*t. This system just continually weakens our game, at the high end we lose our players overseas and to other codes, at the low end we are culling blokes in the beginning of their career at 20 years. In the middle we have our NRL backup side who is totally disenfranchised from the senior club, its not working, and you just have to look at Toyota Cups defence, its appauling.
Once again maybe you should check your facts before going off half cocked.
Did you mate Josh tell you that?
The NSWRL board has voted for an Independent Commission where they get no say, 60% of the ARL has voted the same, if anything the only ones concerned about their blazers is the QRL, try to keep up.
Please I am not discarding anything you have posted, but I have always watched great sides with great attack for the simple reason they have great defence. You want to open the game up, restrict the number of interchanges.
There are no restrictions off the field for a player to earn extra cash Sevens. It just can't be arranged by the club or come from a sponsor associated with the club.
Craig Wing's manager arranged additional appearances and even a gig on Fox8. That was never part of the salary cap of either Souths or Easts and was the opposite of your so-called restraint of trade.
As far as players having a limited earning capacity, I feel zero for them. It's a job. After this job they get another one like the rest of us. Cry me a river for those ex-players who have to work for a living.
Agree that he NSW Cup / NYC program is a balls up. That was the CEO's who voted for that. Can't they see that they are f**king up the game ?
Valid point Terry. We can start with 13, reduce interchange down to 6 or 8 and review after 12 months. However, the incentives (the points) is to go for more risks during a game. With the increase in speed at the line the defense can still do very well with 12 players and 3 on the bench.
The challenge is to spread the wealth of the game around Australia while reducing the financial strain on struggling clubs (23 players on the books instead of 25) and yes some Sydney clubs will still be forced to merge down-the line unless we can get around this spread-of-wealth issue.
Wingys deal is a one off, and I would love to see how that was setup. The restraint of trade I keep talking about is the player is not going to have that opportunity when he retires. Their would be very few players after retirement who dont have to work, so why should their earning capacity be hobble in its prime. You'll cry a river if this keeps going the way it is and the standard of players drops.
Their are many good people sitting on the sidelines waiting for an IC instead of lining Ruperts pockets. The wealth will be there.
