I'd say form at this time of year is more closely related to a team's ability to win its next game than form over the entire 20 rounds.

Again, you're confusing form and who is the better team. The better teams have consistent form over the season which yielded them more wins. Hence we finished 3rd because we were the 3rd best team over 20 rounds.

@hindy111 throwing injuries in as an excuse for Storm who have underperformed is a copout. How about their wins against teams who also had injuries ? They should also be considered by the algorithm deep inside Hindy's brain.

Setting, or at the very least matching the tempo set on Saturday will be important. However if we are getting outgunned early, we do need to do what Hindy was mentioning and slow things down even further. Finding touch on the last, or even earlier would certainly help. Floodgates opening early is my big concern, as it’ll likely result in my incarceration.

I disagree. It just means they have played their best for longer. There are better teams with a higher ceiling than the Panthers who are likely to outplay them in any given game.

The above also applies to us. Souths and the Roosters have better teams and should be favourites against Parra, despite finishing below us on the ladder. But of course we can beat them. I just rate us less than 50% chance. Against the Raiders we should be about evens, with an advantage from playing at home (which I concede we deserve because we've earnt it).

So let's give the Dally M to Cody Walker then bc he's the best player right now. No that's not right bc other players have been more consistent over 20 rounds.

So really, doing the basics correct? something that hasn’t happened for the better part of the season, let’s hope miraculously get it right on Saturday night.

Also playing direct doesn’t hurt either.

Dally M is not the best player. It is just someone's opinion who was better that week. Look at our own 3,2,1 on here.

Cleary Jnr is our best and most important player. But many would argue Gutherson is.....

I'd say the Dally M is to the minor premiership what best-player-in-the-game label is to premiership favouritism.

Gutherson might win the Dally M but nobody will think he's the best player in the game.

Its why I think the minor premiership should be more highly regarded. Its a significant achievement and a sign of excellent week to week consistency.

Seems a bit shit that a team can f**k around all year and then pull their fingers out for 3-4 weeks and take home the puddings. Unless we do it of course, then it would be f**ken great.

I dunno, I think we have improved a little in terms of game management. To my way of thinking there’s been a good few games this season that I think we would’ve lost in years gone by.

Anyway, fingers crossed for Saturday. Surely we are due an ounce of luck...

The minor premiership is the major prize in the biggest soccer competitions. How could 3 billion soccer fans be wrong ffs

More than half our games (55%) this year were decided by a converted try or less, and we were 9 from 11 in those games. There's something more than luck going on there.
