Week 1 Finals: Parra v Penrith GAME DAY THREAD @ Bluebet Stadium 9/9/22

To be fair, I don’t think anyone underestimated their line speed. It is phenomenal. That’s not (or shouldn’t be) why he isn’t posting. I like @hindy111 and truly hope he joins us again. He just has some running battles with some posters, but we all love the eels and hopefully 4 weeks from now we’re getting kicked out of the leagues club because we’re all too inebriated after a weeks celebration of a Premiership.

I think BA may have played the same plan from last week.

When we played the Roosters in Round 15 they had good line speed, but our halves took the ball from Reed and then gave it to the forward taking the hit up which nullified the speed as the ball was shifted out.

There were three forwards on the bench. The key to winning isn't more forwards on the bench, it's controlling the ball.

No there weren’t. Makatoa only got on the field during garbage time for 6 minutes when the game was already over. Coupling that with Jake Arthur meant that we only played with 2 forwards for basically the entire game. Do you think that’s helpful when fatigue starts setting in?

You’ll find plenty of halfbacks struggle against Penrith’s defence. The key is wearing them down. That’s when they line speed drops off and players like Moses can start to run.

I thought Moses kicking game in the first half was outstanding, very different to Cleary’s, but it was very effective.

If you need to pick a backup on the bench why not pick a youngster who will benefit from the experience?

Holy shit!!! Because it’s the finals merkin. You don’t have too. Is Nrown a backup? You’ve always held firm that salaries dictate the top 17. You reckon he’s on under $200k? The circular logic is strong in this one.

I agree. Apart from Rhyno, most of the parra fans are pretty good and we seem to have a lot in common with them (historically a high hope to reality ratio…)

Reed over plays his hand tonight he went down the blind side and lost the ball to the Idiot with the head gear. Alot of times he didnt go to Moses or Brown when he should have.

Hodgson is Running again now so should be fine for round 1 next year.

I cant believe the nutters are still focusing on JA when Blake was useless. Drown didnt do much. Reed was crap and had 1 good pass. All these guys are on alot more $$$ with more experience but lets focus on JA...

I’m calling 6 weeks quality, 8 week injury and then lead us to glory.

I’m really disappointed in Reed this year as I was a massive fan.

Potentially could have merkin. All we know that Jake wasn’t the answer at 13-8 down with 20 to go. Anything else you want to argue is speculative.
