Can I just say, unless you’re shitting/sharting or dropping the kids off at the pool, can you please keep your comments to a minimum on this thread?

I think he's merkin. I also think we need more merkin. Starter, this year. More likely now MOrris has gone because Morris was refusing to contact him.
Stick him on the right to replace Ramien. He was traditionally a right sided centre

Chambers will be 33 in a month and basically hasnt played for 2 years, we dont need more injury prone pensioners
I’m with you. Hated him when he was storm merkin and was old when he left the nrl. Not sure how much he actually adds, except that he is a winner. With the storm and with qld

I don't hate the idea as long as its the right price and a 1 year deal, considering we've now got Xerri money sitting there in the cap and lacking in depth in that area. Dugan an injury liability, Ramien due for a few more suspensions and suddenly Nene is in the backline again

Question.

With Hannay as interim, Fitz still working at Roosters until Nov and half our squad off contract after this year, surely lots will be exploring their options elsewhere for 2022. Who's in charge & makes the call to re-sign them?

This is my concern, how the hell is this going to work?

Is his current employer going to allow him to compete with his current organisation in the player market?

Presumably he needs to be involved in those decisions, but it's risky opening the books given half our squad is off contract?

With an interim coach this season has become a complete write off why can't we see if we can get him early? Or at least ask him to start behind the scenes and for him to give up the Roosters gig. Here's to hoping some signing or retention decisions are made soon.

I am glad there appears to have been a significant cultural shift in our organisation. Our coach hasn't shied away from making the tough calls in dropping one of highest paid players and a grand final hero. The Board hasn't shied away from making a bold and unpopular decision in deposing a coach who by all accounts did a more than passable job.

We are only 5 rounds into the season? If we were 5/5 would this decision have been made?

The sharks statement is interesting in that it simply says Morris will no longer coach the club, but not who made that decision.

I don't think this was a good decision but I hope I am wrong.

I have to admit seeing Kent and Read defend us vehemently nearly made me spew, but then again having 12 beers on an empty stomach then adding a twist could be the real reason.
They were passionate about it, I reckon their producer gave them their roles. Fake news on my behalf.
At least it was 2 vs 2 unlike Q&A.

Why not? Penrith let Barrett work on the Bulldogs while he was still there.

Just sit and wait for all the dominoes.

There is going to be significant collateral damage coming. This is the BIG broom in a BIG way if every domino falls the right way

Fitzgibbon will be in contact with Mooney to build the squad. Mooney will do the negotiating. Fitz would have done his due diligence and will know what he wants.

Fitzgibbon will do his job at Easts and he will be working on 22 with the Sharks.

Sad for Morris but intrigued to see what Fitzy can bring to the club. Hope we can hold onto Morris but understanding if he packs up and leaves.
