I could be completely wrong but I’m against this for the fact that Fitzy has had the luxury of being at a club where he has all the resources a coach could ask for.

you don’t get roosters money or resources at cronulla. You operate on a shoe string budget. And unless you have come through that system, you won’t understand it.

also why is he rated as the next big thing? Recruitment? Strategy?

Seems crazy to me to sign an untested coach for 3 years on big money for a rookie coach.

I applaud the club's ambition in making their intentions known that they expect to be a top 4 team every year but I want to know why they think Fitzgibbon is the man to achieve that.

Plenty of coaches have had great apprenticeships and have come to naught.

Shaun Johnson is on the Smutty Johns show tonight.
Might be an idea to watch his body language if he gets pressed on this subject.
Probably roll out the standard line. Bomber a great coach. If the club was to go to Fitz, he has been great at the roosters and would no doubt do a great job at the Sharks.

I just find it super interesting the Flanno brigade got shut out here. There was a real push for him a few months back and he didn't even get a look in! With all the cap space we have, players off contract this is a real chance to bring in a new era and move on from Bomber/Flanno/Sticky ties. This has been the same "team" with promotions since what 2007? Even Dymock who was the other contender for the role vs Bomber was from that core.

The last time we did something this drastic with coaching was probably Opes. Hope it ends better this time.

Opes didn't bring an entourage. Things I'm hearing today suggest FitzMonkey is just the first turn of the Rubiks cube.

Who says they think that?

I'm fine with it. Watch and wait. There may be more to come.

The perfect solution would be bellamy.
He beings a culture and attitude shift.
He brings his mojo and high expectations.
He brings his gandolph like qualities and his angry butt kicking accountability.
He brings his recruiting power and his ability to get his players to perform to their max.

He oversees it from GC. He zooms the monday video session from there. He flies down the day before game day for final run and tweaking and pre-game / halftime.

Bomber runs bellyaches program during the week. Bomber gets that experience. He is smart enough to administer that and he is loyal.

This is still not dead in the water by the way.

Theres been a few smokescreens in all this.

Trouble is with Bellamy, we'd run out of chairs ,desks. The attrition rate for furniture would be mind blowing.
Throw in the cost of window cleaners for the spittle on the coaches window.

Small price to pay.

This is going to be a Anderson mark II. He is going to come in and think he is going to change the club. But he isn’t going to change didley squat and the fans are going to hate him.
