When i adopted Aust. sports i watched some games from all the codes. Couldn't stand AFL at all. Terrible game. I liked Rugby Union but not as much as Rugby League. Wish they'd somehow unify both codes into one umbrella global organization, so more players to cater for more teams, true national comp etc.

Favorite sports -- RL, Soccer, Am Football (usfl, xfl more so now than nfl)

Are you American bro ?

I’m guessing you moved to a rugby league state ? Or not ?

Titans were very successful for first three years avg 21k fans, shame they couldn’t keep that momentum. Let’s see if dolphins can maintain it better than titans did. Their memberships have jumped nicely so hopefully that helps long term.
I know at your workplace it's all about how many cult members go to a game but there are a lot of other markers of success.

Titans issues

1. Gfc caused collapse of the centre of excellence

2. massive rent of 3 million pa meant overpriced tickets

3. Afl throwing the kitchen sink at the suns

titans have everything to be a big rugby league club

they tried to use the dolphins name and redcliffe said no

plus the dolphins are an established club that helps with their transition into the nrl
Don't blame the gfc. Searle went too big too early that includes stadium deals. There are literally thousands of better names than the titans and the dingleberry went with that. Probably had a stiffy over Denzel Washington.

Yeah came here early 2000s. Citizenship. Have lived in QLD and NSW since.
Honestly if you’d have moved to an afl state they might’ve brainwashed you lol

unlike some people on here you made a good choice moving to a rugby league state and not a wasteland state

did you find the nrl similar to nfl ? I read back in the 30s in gridiron they used to pass the ball backwards a lot like in rugby codes

His heart was in the right place and pretty sure he lost a lot of money as well

the qld govt was raping them regarding the stadium deal

I'm not a brainwashable type anyway, so it would've been fruitless. Like, I did have people try to sell me on AFL, I watched, didn't like it at all. It's up to me to choose what I like or not.

Yes, gridiron used to be only a backward pass game like Rugby in the early decades of its existence. The forward pass happened by accident and eventually became part of the game, but the game still heavily revolved around backwards passing like Rugby even thru the early decades of pro football. Even in the 1950s it was utilized. Since then tho it's largely been shelved, tho it has started to return just a tiny bit. But nothing like Rugby, the precision structured chain passing or ad lib athletic passing. Am. Football has always revolved around blocking for a runner at its core, so chain passing is not a tactical element. Tho i reckon it could be schemed in in small doses.

The brl has a lot of history too

anyway the dolphins will see broncos grow you watch

they were lazy now they have competition it will light a fire under their arses
For starters, it allows the Drongos to play a few Sunday afternoon games, something previously denied them by Nein's scheduling demands.

Broncos make 3 million profit a year and they can’t legally spend more on players so little incentive to grow crowds

but now crowds and memberships will get a kick as they protect their market share against the dolphins, as will less Thursday and Friday night games

Put your name or the name of your favourite player on the back - fantastic.
The seller told me after purchase it is customizable like that, but i went with no personalization. Maybe I'll get the away version of that jersey and put a name/number on it. Probably wait to see who else we sign in 2024. Farnsworth maybe. Kafusi maybe.

Your suggestion is that the only reason Swans got support was because of SL and League followers abandoning the game and going over to follow the Swans.

It was a factor yes but it isn’t the only one. Clearly the fact that they became good at exactly the same time was the significant factor. It was bandwagon support.

For example, when the Brisbane Lions get big crowds are we also attributing that to SL? Or would I find a pattern of support like any other side?
That's the thing with both the Lions and Swans, the only real boost they've ever had was during the SL war and aftermath. Since then, both have stagnated for average attendance and TV ratings.

good luck to him if he goes the Dolphins. I think he needs to end this 5/8 charade and move back to his natural position of centre though.
Not on that amount of money, but fullback, cenrtre 5/8th, backrow, lock are all handy with this guy, can slot him anywhere... Katoa and O'Sullivan are the halves if we are all fit, niko no.14, hammer and JMK are the remaining spine, i'd put him in at lock, he is big enough, and the Bromwich bros, Kaufusi and Nicholls are fairly solid in the forwards, Aikens and Farnsworth are the centres, iasako and nui on wings

La looks like heaven on earth

Less money than Canberra offered apparently
One of the things that people hated about the Crushers at the end was there recruiting of NSW Origin players.

I think this would be a mistep, he isn't a kid anymore and he doesn't really have a big profile in QLD.
