What a dumb troll, accept it, all are not "national" therefore you're flat out wrong, twisting it however you want
My definition is a club in each of the 5 metro cities, making the game relevant to the main states. Just because you dont like it doesn’t make it wrong or that in the context of talking about tv value and sponsorship appeal it isn’t correct. Nrl won’t be considered national by most unti it has a club in perth and Adelaide. Tv deal and revenue comparisons are facts that back up my assertion.

Look I think there should be a side in Perth but Adelaide would be nice. It would be a lot more difficult there than anywhere else.

The key I think is to go where the population is going - SEQ, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney including Newcastle/Wollongong and maybe even Canberra

That’s why I think the bears to Adelaide may be an option, though it runs the same risk as elsewhere with bears white anting to get back to ns eventually

hahahaha

the party line eh
We're not in North Korea dork..
It may be their party line, but it's also a fact.

The AFL, from Demetriou at the time down, has said that both would be expensive long term plans that they didn't expect to bare any fruit at all for at least 20-30 years, and maybe even longer.

You can say that's stupid if you like, it's not what I personally would have done in their position either, but it is their plan, they're sticking with it for the time being, and they're right when they say that it's too early to tell if it's working.

They're in big trouble if they don't start to see shoots sprouting by the early 2030s though.
The aflol has failed miserably with their last round of expansion due to their engrained arrogance ..
end of
So have the NRL so far, and it'll probably take them just as long to realise it, if they ever admit it at all...

You can literally still see the scars from super league right here it’s hilarious

south’s winning the first court case was obviously a bitter blow for our old mate
I didn't support SL. I had concerns about a broadcaster owning the sport, and all those concerns came to fruition in the 00s.

South's winning that first court ruling should be concerning to all people, as it proved just how easily a judge can be swayed emotionally or ideologically.

South's lawyers effectively argued that the NRL was restraining their trade by not allowing them to be part of their competition. That's like arguing that McDonalds is restraining the local burger shop's trade by not allowing them to be a McDonalds franchise, which is utterly insane!

The only reason it got up is because the judge fell for the poor battlers vs the evil corporation line that was being pushed at the time and basically ignored the facts of the case as a result. His decision was pretty much instantly thrown out as soon as it went under the noise of other judges.

Assuming that they were well supported by the league and other stakeholders, and were well run organisations, Perth and Adelaide would be amongst the most stable and financially successful clubs in the NRL within 20 years.

Everything you say is from superleague playbook. South's are strongest Sydney team now. Only an idiot would suggest they should never have been brought back

They shouldn't have

But I'd also argue they should never of been kicked out in the first place

They f**ked up royally with which teams got kicked out and who merged with who, and that includes kicking out Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane 2
