Made the game more valuable. Maybe not in an immediate fiscal sense, that will come, but the addition of the dolphins is the best thing to happen to the game since the reintroduction of souths.

But as a bitter afl fan living 4000kms away I can understand you can't see that.
No ones arguing that, the discussion was valuable to tv. Brisbane2 has been a no brainer since 1998!

Everybody knows TV got discount from V'Landys coz they were crying poor. To say Brisbane is of no value as result is disingenuous but consistent with ur account.
Ultimately, broadcasters decide what teams they want & last two teams have been qld.
haha so they werent willing to pay more, you got there in the end. Reality check FTA paid zero for Brisbane 2 ergo they didn't see the monetary value for them to pay more.

But hey Brisbane3 will be different, because?

You spend money putting addition on house. Then you sell house in down market & you get less than you paid for it. Addition didn't make house more valuable. Same thing

How much is fox paying redcliffe per year?! Afl paying gws & GC?! Perth can get by with less huh?!
What are you talking about? If Perth get in they will get $17mill from the NRL. They will raise $15mill from fans and corporates. With a sweet stadium deal and whatever benefits WA govt backing offers that will see them profitable.
No need for pokies, hollywood owners or top ups.
Same as for Wellington/Christchurch.
Realistically other than a really conservative decision to go with another pokie backed Brisbane club that will be the reality for any new club joining the NRL.

Funny in that down market how our competitors managed a 15% lift in tv value then a further 15% on top of that, 30% all up in that same down market period, or maybe the down market was only in Sydney and Brisbane?

We've been through this before - they won't.

Predicting dockers numbers is wrong, but to do so after you've been told it's dumb is beyond dumb

Not understanding that corporate sales goes beyond sponsorship is equally dumb, as I've told you before. No one is predicting Dockers numbers lol NRL isnt that big.

Dockers corporate sales
Sponsorship: $8.2mill
Game day corporate sales: $5.8mill
Other corporates revenue: $3.7mill
Total $17.7mill

Fan revenue
$28.7mill

Total $46.4mill

No one is saying an NRL club will get anything like that, no NRL club does. But 32% of it? yeh thats achievable.

And if WA puts up a business case that doesnt stack up to that $15mill revenue needed then they shouldnt get the license, or any other club for that matter. But as there is no decision by the NRL on where, theres no bid development yet been called for and you nor I realistically know what will happen next we're all just pissing in the wind.

Where are you pulling these numbers from?! (Don't be too graphic).

Interesting to know what average attendance you predict when last crowd there was like 6k.

Dockers annual report. Google is your friend.

15k avg crowd. 16.8k for one offs over last decade. 15k for a well run club should be very achievable. Again f the NRl doesn't believe that a club can earn around$15mill in FC operations then it should not be admitting it. Thats why they have to present businesses cases.

got to love a hypothetical! Sure if the club sits last for 5 years they're going to be in strife. But same as other clubs, difference is if they dont then they could be one of the biggest clubs in the comp. Storm sit in top 3 of most metrics and are one of the most profitable clubs in the comp. But yeh if they sat bottom for a few years theyd be less so, as would every club.

And once again the NRl will expect to see a realistic business case from any new bid that gives them a level of comfort around viability.

They're all established NRL teams
eh? Thats actually pretty damning for the likes of the Dogs and Tigers looking at their shthouse revenue streams. If Perth cant show more than that they shouldn't be let in!

Raiders have a relatively small fanbase (crowd avg 12.6k 2022) with limited corproate base to appeal to. If a Perth team cant achieve what they have financially then something's very wrong.
