Dolphins to play more games at suncorp next year, but still 3 at kayo (sigh) with 1 game undecided.
Is the redevelopment of Sunny coast starting next year and unavailable and if so will they take a game to perth again?

Call me a negative nancy, but I've never really seen the point of the GC team. Sure the AFL installed a team there as well, but I (likewise) have always said the Suns would be a cash drain for the AFL. Problem with the GC is it's full of expats, people with pre-existing loyalties and the Titans have done very little in their 17 year history to inspire the imagination of the neutral fan. Even amongst Qld league fans there's a general apathy about them.

The irony is the NRL back in 2004 delayed expansion announcement by a year to favour the Titans bid over the CC Bears bid, yet if Norths had relocated to the GC and become the Gold Coast Bears I'd argue they'd have more supporters and more relevance in the league today.

Not sure exactly what the Titans need to change in order to develop more of an identity and more relevance?
Will be interesting to see what kind of impact Dessie will have on them. The Titans aren’t a bad team on paper so a hard nosed successful coach like Hasler could spark them.

They need to grow a defensive line, if they dont they stay where they are... they would be very dangerous side if they did

They should take a game or two to Rockhampton since they have a feeder relationship with the Capras.

So much for Sunshine Coast. Nrl clubs should not be able to call a 10k stadium ‘home’, ridiculous.

Interesting look at the population centres in Australia and NRL's footprint.
1. Sydney ✅️
2. Melbourne ✅️
3. Brisbane ✅️
4. Perth ❌️
5. Adelaide ❌️
6. Gold Coast ✅️
7. Newcastle Maitland ✅️
8. Canberra Queanbeyan ✅️
9. Sunshine Coast ❌️
10. Central Coast ❌️
11. Wollongong ✅️
12. Geelong ❌️
12. Hobart ❌️
13. Townsville ✅️
14. Cairns ✅️
15. Toowoomba ❌️

Cairns gets a tick because its North Queensland. Throw in Auckland and the NRL is doing pretty well although the big blank is Perth and Adelaide.
This highlights why

A. The 'only in two states' representation of our game is bullshit. Yeah, the two states with most of the people

B. Why the AFL have to desperately sink ridiculous money into our heartlands to get a foothold and we don't have to spend anywhere near do the same in theirs. They need what we already have more than we need what they already have.

Could the dolphins finish higher than the broncos this year with a possible grand final hangover

if they do will their crowds at Suncorp be on par with the broncos

it’s a shame they didn’t give Wayne five years vs three but woolfe seems a decent enough coach

didnt someone here predict that the Dolphins would attract poor crowds and another expansion bid team should have been given the nod?

They were on par with Broncos at Suncorp

The

Dane did
Given their 25k avg was below what it could have been because of their historic ties to using inappropriate stadiums he somewhat had a point. They only avg'd overall 4k more than the Titans in their first year.

You are criticising the average … its fine…
Im comparing it to what might have been in the context of the conversation at hand. Maybe a bit too complicated for you to follow eh?

So answer the question. IYO was it less than a genuine Brisbane2 playing FT out of Suncorp would have achieved?

It’s not complicated at all… you are being critical of how they choose to run their business…

Whats your expertise in this area exactly ?
common sense

Dane made an argument that being a redcliffe club would hinder them. I made an argument a genuine Brisbane2 club would have been bigger than the redcliffe club. The fact they are playing games in a 10k stadium when they are getting 30k plus at Suncorp would suggest theres some element of logic to both arguments as born out by the 25k crowd avg.
For a Brisbane2 club is 25k that impressive really? not terrible, in fact pretty good by NRL standards, just not what it could have been, imo.

you have used the term that this is “inappropriate “:…so you are criticising them…

Why does this offend you ?

They have decided that playing a few games in an area they want to target in their inaugural season as preferable to a few more through the gates at Suncorp…

Who are you to say that this is ”inapproriate”?
