you have used the term that this is “inappropriate “:…so you are criticising them…

Why does this offend you ?

They have decided that playing a few games in an area they want to target in their inaugural season as preferable to a few more through the gates at Suncorp…

Who are you to say that this is ”inapproriate”?
A 10k uncovered stadium is incredibly inappropriate for a brand new NRL club to be using, IMO. Theya re only using it because they are redcliffe. which goes back to the point that they arent a genuine Brisbane2 club. hence the immediate calls for Brisbane3.

So answer the question. IYO was Dolphins crowd avg less than a genuine Brisbane2 playing FT out of Suncorp would have achieved?

Opinions… correct … not facts
It can only ever be a hypothetical given we dont have comparative data, like pretty much 75% of whats on this board lol .

I dont think its an outrageous one though to suggest a club genuinely representing brisbane and playing Ft out of suncorp wouldn't've drawn more than a 25k avg in their first year when the hype is at its highest.

It’s also not outrageous to suggest that trying to draw the biggest crowd average possible was not their only consideration in their inaugral season

Regardless… I think you would have to be mean spirited not to say that by a lot of measures …including average crowds… their first season was more successful than most predicted ..

Given their 25k avg was below what it could have been because of their historic ties to using inappropriate stadiums he somewhat had a point. They only avg'd overall 4k more than the Titans in their first year.
Blame the matildas

they should play games at sunny coast when it gets upgraded and none at kayo

I thought it was on par. Finished where I thought they would on the table, 25k isnt exactly overwhelming crowd avg. Id say the suncorp crowds were great, the membership numbers were encouraging (if a little fudged with loads of 1 game memberships) and the buzz they created was outstanding. Their marketing team did a great job.

I think it was above par… so we will call that a difference of opinion

25k is a great average … hope they can maintian it

They averaged almost 12k more than the Reds in their first year.

Im comparing it to what might have been in the context of the conversation at hand. Maybe a bit too complicated for you to follow eh?

Why does it matter?

You want unwanted teams in Adelaide and Perth that could average less than 10k to their games.

Yet you're whinging because the Dolphins' average was hindered by playing a few games at Dolphin Oval?

Redcliffe averaged more than 30k at Lang Park, FWIW.

What sort of idiot would say Brisbane should only have two teams that average over 30k at Lang Park, then argue it's so we can bring in shitbox clubs in Adelaide and Perth that struggle to draw 30k between them?

When’s that due?

I keep forgetting they have the Olympics soon so no doubt every cow paddock up there will be getting an upgrade
Sadly rugby league is missing out

fumblers getting billions on the Gabba

Could’ve done something amazing for a Suncorp rebuild

even Ballymore got an upgrade

This says rebuild starts next year

Is there any historical connection between the Dolphins and Sunshine Coast ?

It’s a longer distance than I thought
