That’s excellent

really shows how under-utilised the brisbane market is

hopefully the phins push memberships and it forces the broncos to get their finger out of their you know what’s and market properly

together with their asset base it probably makes them one of the richest clubs In the league

great move pvl
In peter we trust...

Great to hear that a small area northeast of Brisbane is pulling in those sponsors, after most punters here claim the ARLC just added another Manly in SEQ, seems more like they've added a South Sydney more like it

If they have a reasonable platform (defence, ruck control, a decent goal kicker), then they just need to find some creative players as icing on the top, that'll make the difference between maybe making the 8 to "certainly top 8, maybe top 4".

They might not have them in their first season or two (haven't had long enough lead-in time to recruit), but if they're solidly mid-table in 2023-4, they'll attract that talent after that.
Hopefully they get Munster for 2024. Anything that helps bring Melbourne back to the pack is good for the game.

Well then they're going to have to put in the leg-work for developing local juniors then, aren't they? ;)
You can’t develop what’s not there, nrl needs to invest in victoria to increase jnr participation rates. Storm spend plenty running Victorian development pathways for the best, there’s just not enough of them in reality.

1.5 million a season is probably overs but he’s one of the best players in the game

massive loss for the storm

they were idiots trying to not at least match the 1.2 million they are paying him now

hindsight but keeping Hynes on 400k would’ve been an excellent move

no they weren't, he isn't worth that much. We'll be fine with our three quality spine players that we've spent the money on. 6 has never been that big a priority at Storm until Munster got good.

I've been waiting for Melbourne's decline. Hopefully this is it.

DOLPHINS MAKE SPLASH AS NRL’S NEW CORPORATE KINGS

The Dolphins have joined the Broncos as the financial kings of the NRL, amassing a staggering $10 million corporate empire ahead of their premiership debut next season.

The Courier-Mail can reveal the Dolphins have usurped big guns Melbourne, Penrith, South Sydney and the Roosters with a sponsorship portfolio that vindicates the NRL’s decision to include the much-maligned 17th franchise.

The sponsorship revelations come as the Dolphins slammed criticism of their recruitment and ARL Commission boss Peter V’landys blasted detractors of the Dolphins, backing super coach Wayne Bennett to deliver a finals campaign in their foundation season in 2023.

Dolphins boss Terry Reader confirmed the new franchise is already the second richest team in the league when it comes to corporate support, turning up the heat on Sydney’s posse of cash-strapped clubs.

“Our playing kit (sponsorship) is fully sold and we are travelling very well commercially,” Reader said.

“Our sponsorship book is very healthy and we will probably start next year at number two behind the Broncos in sponsorship revenue based on the last benchmarking results the NRL did.

“There is a good appetite for the Dolphins and we’ve built programs people want to be part of. Given Brisbane has been a one-team town for so long, a lot of companies have been locked out (of sponsorship opportunities).

“There is a lot of interest and we’ve signed some blue-chip companies from day one.”

The Dolphins are a powerhouse and some still don't realise it. For those that haven't cottoned on yet, this is a huge, very well run, football club and business and are exactly how you want all NRL clubs to be operated. I think they'll be mid-table in their first season but honestly it doesn't matter even if they pick up the spoon. Once they are in their stride they will be a juggernaut.
