yeah, you're right. there was a fair few articles on this earlier this year. Perhaps even why someone like the Hammer might have resigned now...allowing higher payments this year to reach the quota, then he receives lower salary in coming years...still equaling the same amount (on yearly average) over the duration of contract.

Your suggestion is that the only reason Swans got support was because of SL and League followers abandoning the game and going over to follow the Swans.

It was a factor yes but it isn’t the only one. Clearly the fact that they became good at exactly the same time was the significant factor. It was bandwagon support.

For example, when the Brisbane Lions get big crowds are we also attributing that to SL? Or would I find a pattern of support like any other side?

Look at where AFL is strong. No RL anywhere, Certainly not the type who attend every RL game and the occastional AFL game.

As I doubt many who attend AFL are missing games to go watch Souths play

Bears
Souths ( Briefly)
Balmain
Wests ( Lidcombe days)

So we are talking 5k from each fan base. Not crazy numbers. Then they have kids who likely follow the parents

Perhaps thats a hint when team 18 arrives? 2025. But yeah, two years is not enough time to implement the Bennett way. Hopefully Woolf is a quick learner. He's coached Tonga i think so he mist be ok

Woolf isn’t a dud coach and I’m sure he’s having an impact now

wayne has never been one for game plans or analysing other teams weaknesses more about man management and getting the best out of his players and taking the pressure off them from the media

I am sure it will work out well for the Dolphins. There have been over 100 premierships won in the comp, so coaches not named Wayne Bennett have won comps too

Gutsy win today albeit against the league's worst defense. Down 0-26 to win 28-26.

You need creativity and lots of moving parts on every play to win in the NRL. Whenever teams are too static during a game they always play at their worst.
