Anybody that knows anything about the financial situation of both the NRL and the AFL knows the AFL has a ton more money then the NRL.

But where in the article that you provided a link and reference to does it say anyhting about the NRL finances and their ability or willingness to help out 2 new clubs.

It doesn,t, not sure hwere he has got it from. It will all depend on the $'s at the end of the day. Get a $billion TV deal and the IC ARL will have the money to do what it likes. Get a $7-800mill deal and they can probably afford to have one development area. Get any less and it will be no expansion.

so what players will they target for team?

Hopefully some young english talent, a couple of big names and a hand full of WA players. I hope we have the salary cap increase to be able to bring back alot of decent players playing overseas rather than cannibalise the existing NRL squads. A couple of SA RU players wouldn't hurt either.

Hopefully Cory Patterson will have continued his development and become our first club captain. How good would it be to have a WA jnr as first captain!

Others we could target that are WA jnrs and will still be around in 2013 include The Bryson boys, Jon Green, Holdsworth etc.

Hopefully Bellamy is ready for a new challenge by then and signs on as our first coach!

That's a lot of hope! I'll add to it and hope that you get all of that and more, like a top 8 team in your inaugural year, the season of 2013.

It doesn't mate and if that post led anybody to think that is what that article is saying i do apologise. The reason i gave that link was because it shows proof that the NRL will be expanding by 2 in 2013 and not by 2 over a 3 year plan as some pro-ipswich supporters were claiming yesterday without sources.

Maybe you should form a sentence with coherent thoughts that cannot be misunderstood. You seem to do that a lot on these forums.

Reds & QLD 2013!

I write for intelligent readers, i am not going to set the level low enough for a 12 year old to read it .... nevertheless good luck with your first year of high school next year.

Where is the source that confirms the Bears were the second most watched team in the 90s? Another made up fact to enhance the Bears bid?

their first year average was 13390

How about their second and third years?

All 4 figures (each year and the overall average) are well under the figure he mentions as their average. 16k.

The point is, he's either terribly misinformed or he's lying.

The only average at the WACA where Rugby League averages better than 16k per games is games without the Western Reds.

Maybe they are referring to the games played by the Western reds and not including the games played by the Perth Reds.

It's a good and logical move by the NRL, We have a new timezone for television games arguably another game on Sunday, WA have always had a good junior base too work with so can produce there own players. It's the right move really to be a true national competition we had to have the Reds come back into the fold.

Youy can't seriously use the Reds crowd average in the horrid SL year to have a go at their numbers?

Crowds across the board in 1997 were poor and for good reason.

in comparison to what was happening and other teams we held our own crowd wise and showed there was great potential. It may end up us taking a decade + longer than hoped to reach that potential but in many ways Perth is actually in a much better position for an NRL team now than in 1995.

He actually said "the WACA".

It doesn't matter anyway.

Neither ever averaged near 16k before or during Super League.

And I'm not having a go at them at all because I never considered Perth's crowds to be bad considering everything. I'm having a go at the bloke who said it. It looked wrong so I checked it. It took me 30 seconds to check it. It will take others the same amount of time.

Exaggeration won't help.

You serious? Sounds more believable without a source than saying they were number 1. I highly doubt it to be treu now as no ones seems to be able to prove it.
