Past tense. They currently have a Super Rugby team.

Also, you’re stretching. The article was simply stating that there is enough support for a RL side which I think is hard to argue with.

There's enough support for origin game. Looking at ratings very little support for NRL comp proper

Same could be said for Sydney. 70k will attend Origin but as few as 8k will turn up for an NRL game.

If 70k RL fans from Sydney can band together to support NSW then there's no reason all nine Sydney clubs can be culled and replaced with 2, 3 or 4 clubs that draw 30k each.

We’ll agree to disagree on this point. There is enough support for an NRL club ( and to be quite frank we are not talking about some high mark here)

What’s the Perth ptv ratings? Oh that’s right you haven’t got a clue lol only time rl fans have to watch ch9 it gets 140k. Troll done good.

200k attending and watching origin from perth v 114k for wannabes. NRL can take this city from union if it gets off its arse.

The FTA ratings in Perth would be hurt somewhat by the Thursday and Friday night matches lining up against the 6pm news and fumbleball. Any devoted RL fan in Perth would have Foxtel or Kayo.

59k for Origin, 48k for Yawnion. There are so many Rugby League juniors/seniors now playing Union for the pathway opportunities or the perceived "strength" of their leagues due to numbers. If someone on the east coast had any foresight I could see our competitions doubling within 3 years.

If the NRL was going to introduce Redcliffe then the 17th licence should have gone to Perth. There's an NRL ready venue in Perth and a great bid from Cummins. Dolphins shouldn't have been admitted until Dolphin Oval could fit 25k spectators.

Congrats to our 2 South Perth Jnrs who have been signed up for the Raiders HM Ball side for next season. This follows from last years 2 Lions Jnrs who had good years in HM Ball for the Raiders. Shame we still have to send our kids East for a shot but hopefully that changes soon!

South Perth Lions name Canberra Raiders Duo
The South Perth Junior Rugby League Club are proud to announce there inaugural Canberra Raiders train and trial recipients for the upcoming Harold Mathew’s Cup season.
The two chosen players; Gabe Salelea and Jordan Tumoana have been standouts in there respective sides and thoroughly deserve the opportunity to impress the Raiders.
The boys will head to Canberra this November to showcase their talent and make the case for game time with the Raiders for the 2023 season.
Salelea has impressed over the last 18 months with his versatility a standout, while Tumoana although playing predominantly at full back throughout 2022, has shown his class in a number of positions.
