Wests Tigers Coaches 2024

I think we have to stick with him even though there are no signs he has a clue. I think that might be a bit harsh. He has shown that he is pretty good at press conferences and giving young kids a shot but he has shown zilch tactical nous.

I'm hopeful though that he is learning and getting the right support and if they give him a decent squad maybe he can be a part of turning our club around.
I'm keen to watch our play the ball speed tonight. It's been slow all season and now that 360 have shone a light on what our esteemed forum member (sorry, can't remember exactly who brought this up) said much earlier in the year about how Penrith were breaking the rules with their play the ball and nothing has been done to stop it, I'm keen to see if we copy it.

In sport, much like life, it's always best to be first. If you're not, and you see someone else doing something that can make your life much easier, there's no shame in copying it. Now it's been brought up in the mainstream media we should absolutely copy Penrith's play the ball.

This will be a good test of Marshall's ability to adapt, and show his situational awareness. If he doesn't instruct us to it, and other teams continue to do it (showing the teams haven't been forewarned by the refs) then it's a major concern.

Of course, if we do it we'll probably be penalised to Mars and back, while the rest of the NRL continue on as normal. Could even be sin-bin worthy.

Credit where it's due to the coaching staff.

With a lot of kids, suspensions and injuries, they have managed to win more games than we have in the past few years.

Be even better if we avoid the spoon.

I really believe, Luai will become a part of the coaching staff as well, when he is on the field.

I remember a season or two ago, Penrith ran a play and Luai ran and passed the ball to another back (name escapes me), who wasn't in position, and he blew that player up on the field. Great to see and just what we need.

Yep, accountability is what's required. If your good enough your old enough so that means players like Lachlan Galvin, Luke Laulilii, Bula etc require them to be mature enough to have wake up calls from time to time.

Are you referring to Aukland?

What's our coaches pass mark this year? Collectively I'd say 4/10
Lack of control in the middle and defence are my biggest gripes and I point the finger at Morris. Surely he has to go.
Our recruiting for next year has been ok but Benji will not be able to hide if we deal up the same sort of rubbish again that we have done in the last 3 years.

Pretty low. Benji gave the players bad advice and he has admitted it on that last game. Imagine that after all the learnings over the course of the season in a critical game you tell them to play footy.

That is just terrible terrible coaching.

Ur way to generous.Im struggling to justify giving the amateurs 1/10.We seriously need a total overhaul of the clueless coaching staff.Thank goodness Richo is at the helm coz unless things change dramatically early ‘25 the savvy & ruthless Richo won’t hesitate to pull the trigger.Ive no doubt Richo has drawn up a list of candidates to replace Benji & assistants.

I'd keep Benji but geez the guy has pissed me off nearly as much as watching Stef make his tackles in the middle.

I'm not giving Richo any credit until we make the finals.

Robbie has moved on quietly from his assistant coaching gig at WT to take up a position as Head of Partnerships with 247, a sports and adventure company.
It looks like Robbie's not going to sit atop of the LO scoreboard again.
I can't say that his short tenure as an assistant coach with the WT has had any visible positive influence on the squad.
In my opinion it was always going to be a big ask and in hindsight the club should have got Benji a more experienced offsider.
