I don't know if I am in favour of putting a rookie in for this game. Parra at Parra with Hayne & Sandow dropping bombs on a fullback from 200 meters up. It's a big ask. They are 2 of the best bombers in the game

Callum is meh imo... Can't think of game where he's been more than 6/10 .... And that's usually against weak 20's defense.

Gallop was on 2gb the other arvo saying Ike is suspended indefinitely.

Unless stapo is back soon I reckon we might be f**ked.

Penani is real footballer, Bowen style, but it would never happen...also a bit out of form this year

I'd be moving carney to fb.... His role would only have to change in defense... Look at hayne ....

I'ts not ideal but this would atleast keep our defense stiff until stapo or Ike comes back in the mix.

Gards has been very shit this year, but atleast he is some what threatening sniffing around the ruck .... Can't see any of our wingers providing this type of threat..... theres no pace/agility in any of those blokes..

Unluckily for carney, he'd probably be the best in the club in all 7 backline positions...

I keep trying to find an argument in my head to not have Carney back at 1 but I can't.

It's the most logical thing to do and he can still ball play from there a la B. Slater, J Hayne, M Bowen, G Inglis and any of the other good 1's

It fits with the current evolution of the game anyway. 1's are becoming ballplayers

The difference with bowen and slater is that they have ballplayer who can create in the halves. We do not. Graham and robson won't create the doubt needed to open up the space.

No doubt that carney can play there and he may be the best option individually but I reckon it will severely weaken the threat provided by the halves. With De gois out as well we don't gave the same punch from dh.

A fit and firing Albert Kelly would be handy right now.

Hot dog for mine. Not afraid to catch the bloody ball, attacks the ball. Seems to read the play well enough. I reckon he would be the safe option. Matty is a bit scary returning he ball. Every time he does I'm on the edge of my seat praying he doesn't cough it up.

If the injury has Gards sidelined for anymore than 3 weeks, it could be all thats required for a Mills or Pickerd to come in and cement the spot.
